Please explain the terms "backhaffing" and "tubbing". I understand that they refer to body mods, but exactly how. Why woud a 4 link suspension be better than the IRS we now have?

Well this is pretty much a 'Pro-Street' or Drag only mod.
Backhalfing means cut up the rear half of the vehicle uniframe and install a metal tubing chassis similar to a drag racing chassis. The rear four links setup is the best known rear suspension config for straight line acceleration. Not much else.

If I was going to do nothing but dragracing and I was richer than Croesus , sure!
    Otherwise...not much point in it.
A lot of super-serious modding for less street usefulness...

    And the dead shall walk

I have thought about this.I need to find an SE I can afford.Maybee a flood car from down south if the money is right. The only big problem is because of the year you still need all your emisions.Basicly though I see it done as a Sedan Delivery with a set of Very large rear tires.I would probably use a set of steamroller 20's.Then stick a 6.4 up front with a blower.

No Tub.. tubbed means cutting out the rear inner sheet metal wheel wells, fabbing and then welding in new sheet metal with a much W I D E R area for wider rear tires.

Hemi31, gotta to tell you. I been having the same delusions, get SE, massive modes, shortened ford 9", 4 link. micky's, chop and channel the lid couple inches, the biggest fricking motor I can fit and a giant huffer poking through the hood. What da ya think?.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.
