I know the truck guys have great success w/removing their front sway bars so the truck can squat and hook better....
Has anyone in the LX world done this?

For drag racing, the only benefit would be slightly reduced weight, bars are hollow and not very heavy. I think what would work better exclusively for drag racing would be a set of worn out SE shocks, that would let the front end lift higher and faster= better traction. The truck guys sometimes remove sway bars for going off road, or in the case of the Dodge Powerwagons, electric disconnets.

the truck guys that drag race remove them so the front will come up and make the rear squat causing better traction
so my question is... why dont we do this?
That makes no sense, A anti-roll bar has nothing to do with that.
In a launch, both front wheels move in unison.
A roll bar only works when one wheel is trying to move independant of the oposite wheel.

I will say, the front sway bar on my Ram is massive, if it is solid, it must weigh a ton! My Ram launches pretty good for a 6,000lb whale, 2.2 sec 60' times. Fat 275/60/20's bite very well. 33" dia

This was discussed some time ago. I'll try to find the thread.

They take them off for the simple weight reason, offroad guys have disconnects so they Flex better.
Old Style bars were always solid, and bloody heavy. 30 pounds off the nose is nothing to sneeze at.
Taking them off just for drag racing may be okay. However, if you drive your car on the highway, taking the front bar off will change the handling (read oversteer) and make your car dangerous to drive.
Ok, if it was for weight, then that makes a lot of sense.
