so these have been out for a while now and some of you have used them
just trying to see if there are more reviews for them
are the Total Crap or manageable for dual purpose tires?
post up
I went through 2 sets before I gave up on them. They are pretty good for street driving even when the roads were wet as long as they had good tread. On the strip well lets say the only way I found to make them really hook was to heat them up extra long.... meaning more like 5-7 sec burnouts which equated to lots of rubber being burn off. Of all the different brands of DRs I have tried.... they are at the BOTTOM of my list.
Do yourself a favor Nuvie, get the M/T or the Hoosiers.
If you want to use them for the street then try the Nittos

I bought a set that I was planning on using at the strip, tried them on the street once and liked them. After making about 10 passes down the track with them I decided to sell them because I couldn't hook with them. I will only run hoosiers now.

great street tire, horrible strip tire.
i run the nitto 555's on the street (the 300 treadwear ones) and will be going to the 555R's (the 100 treadwear ones) after i go thru this set.
phenomenal street tire, but from everything ive heard, and even the way i use em on the street... id never take em to the strip and expect good launches, even on your stock SRT, youre better off going with a 17" wheel and a drag radial.
the only reason i would run these for a strip tire is if you really didnt want to get a new set of smaller wheels to swap on, and just wanted to run 20's.... big... heavy... 20's
ill have to let you try my 315/35/17 hoosiers for a pass or two just so you can see how good they feel![]()

The Nitto 555r (305's)are perfect for the street ?
What rim width and what backspacing is required for this tire on a 300 srt8?
I ran 275/40/20s at the track on two occasions. I actually got as good 60' times as I did with Mickey Thompson Street ET drag radials (or biasplys) - 1.77
When the track would cool however they became very slippery. On a warm track they are very good and the burnouts were very consistent as I wasn't overrevving into limp mode like I did with the 17" wheels and short drag tires.
On the street they are much better than RSAs or Vredesteins. I'm actually able to use some of my power on the street now and not get blown away by Honda Civics :-)
