IIRC, offset is different.
Izzy picsmoney talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"
RWD Wheel offset is +24, AWD offset is +55

Hey man! I hope I can shed a little light on the subject for you, if needed there are some other threads that can help.
In regard to wheels there is a significant difference. The OEM 2WD offset is a +24mm, or the mounting surface of the wheel is 24mm from the center of the wheel, towards the outside. The OEM AWD offset is +55mm. Essentially what happens here is the wheel itself sits more inside towards the strut tower as the mounting face of the wheel is pushed farther out from the center of the wheel itself, much farther than a 2WD wheel. There are other factors involved when selecting offset of the wheel, one major item is wheel width. The wider the more your offset placement is effected. I've attached a .pdf of a CAD drawing that shows a section through some wheels for my Saab showing why certain wheels wouldn't fit. (see post above for attachment).
I hope I didn't cause confusion and helped. I'd be more than happy to section a set of wheels or help you decide what will and will not fit your car. My car has a 20x9 wheel with a +38mm offset. It's an AWD and this actually places my outer lip of my tires 1/2" inside the fender. Wider than stock, but actually gives the nice filled fender appeal without having that lowrider wheel sticking out towards nowhere look.
