20" set up, food for thought?

So I'm in my warehouse and see a nice cool vanilla maggie cruising the complex. He's got 20's and the stance was exactly the look I want, lowered but not slammed. So the LX forum bug bits and I hunt him down to talk about his ride and see if he's a member. Anyhow after the "nice ride" thingy and an introduction, I ask him how he lowered his ride. He didn't!. Looking closer I realize he has 55 series shoes on that baby. Looked great. So for those of you shopping rims and tires, maybe consider this an option. And before I get flamed with the pic's thing. He is buying a building in this complex, I will post pictures soon, turns out he lives a couple miles from me. Ya I even took him in my office and showed him the website and emailed him the link. If my wife ever hears about this she'll vote me "dork of the year".

I am looking at getting new rims and tires this spring, and would want to this set-up 265/50-20

It is hard to find 55's in a 20" rim

Do you know all the sizes of his tire and what make?

    Thanks

What stood out about this set up was the fitment of the tire/wheel well with out lowering, it was clean.

The main reason I want to go with a thicker tire (50's) is because Montreal has very bad roads, and with a low profile there is a real danger of damaging rims.

I have seen a lot of people who have 35's and 40's and damaged their rims from driving over pot holes (which by the way can be unaviodable here).

Plus as stated earlier, it fills up the wheel well nicely

Won't your speedometer be way off with no way to adjust it with those tall tires?
