I think it would be great if an SRT engineer came it to this thread and laid out exactly what to expect from the 07' and up srt MTCM. I would like to get and use this if it wasn't so murky what it does exactly and how.

I tried placing an order and it won't let me. Kept saying address does not match my info. I will try again later.![]()
This part is currently available at the dealerships. Spoke with engineers, no change in calibration other than it being setup up to better support the NGC4 controller (07+). As far as shifting capabilities, it is exact specs as the Mopar (performance) TCM some of us already have.

Do you guys still have these in stock? If not how long do you expect until they are in? If I ordered one today? and lastly, any discounts to forums members?

Hey All,
I just read all 24 pages. But I don't see the answer to what interests me:
On an 09 Challenger SRT:
1. What are the stock shift points?
2. What is the stock rev limiter setting?
3. What does the SRT MTCM change both of those to?
4. Are those settings safe for a stock engine?
5. With a Predator, can I lower those settings back to what the standard TCM settings are?
The only thing I want the SRT MTCM for is to disable the auto up-shift in autostick.
Thanks,
Rick

Looks like your in luck then! according to the SRT engineer doing the srt chat round table the SRT MTCM only locks up better in 2nd. gear(a plus) and disables auto upshift in autostick to hold the gear. Shift points are the same as stock, 6,100rpm. Or 6,400 with the preditor raised shift and rev. limiter points.
Now I guess you could have higher shift points by paddle holding the gear as long as you raised the rev. limiter in the preditor but I can only see that as useful for me holding 3rd. gear higher and manually shifting 4th. in the 1/4mi. 1st.to 2nd. and 2nd.to 3rd. shifts happen to fast with the 3.73 gears to not hit the rev. limiter.
I just read that too!
They mention that it was designed to take advantage of the higher slip performance torque converter. Since that is the only "extra" mod they mention, and they say that it has the same shift points, I'll assume it that it is safe for a completely stock engine (valvetrain wise).

My question is in regards to the new MPTCM for the SRT's. Other than already being pre-programed with the 3.06 gear ratio, what makes this more advantageous than the previous MPTCM? Can you share some of the Specs with us? Shift points, TC lock, line pressure ect...
Thanks again for taking the time to be with us.
The two part numbers are very similar except for the gear ratio difference you mentioned. In repsonse to customer requests we introduced an SRT version of the 5.7L Performance TCM. The calibration was optimized for use with the Mopar Performance Torque Converter and also includes the hold in gear feature. Performance gains will be greatest for those customers with a higher slip converter.

Part #on the box is p5155177, part # on the actual controller is pp5155179aa, have not installed this yet because the dealership installed the first one by the insrtuctions and fried it, im now told just to install it at home and run the adaptives, yes or no, thanks again.
P5155177 is the kit part number. P5155179 is the part number for the actual controller. The new TCM does have the hold-in-gear feature that will prevent it from upshifting in Autostick mode. The shift points are the same. Sorry to hear your first controller got damaged. The instructions do warn against intializing the controller as that will wipe out the Mopar Programming. See below.
DO NOT USE THE STARSCAN "INITIALIZE EGS - 52/53" FUNCTION AS YOU WOULD WHEN REPLACING A FACTORY TCM. DOING SO WILL CORUPT THE MOPAR PERFORMANCE TCM PROGRAMMING AND WILL RENDER THE MODULE NON FUNCTIONAL.
Most customers should be able to install the part themselves, just be sure to follow all the instructions included with the kit.

I wonder if the SRT MTCM instructions state that we have to watch the tranny temp during calibration.
If they do, will a Predator, hooked up to read live, give me the tranny temp?
