    Canada spared in the clean up

    Looks like Canada is getting spared in the clean up...
    Just heard the news tonight, there are no plans to close dealerships in Canada, this is good news for all Canadian workers and owners.

    we're pretty good here.. we've sold over 200 new this year- and we have a store 10 minutes away (still in Scarborough) that has only sold 40... plus i kill them in part sales... but anything is possible..

    its not a surprise. the dealership i worked at last spring closed down 6 months after i left. i picked a good time to work closer to home.

    IMO, the only reason they are not pulling franchises in Canada is because Chrysler Canada is not in bankrupcy like in the US. Chrysler Canada can still be sued.

    i have no doubt that some Canadian dealers will close but i don't think it will happen for a few months yet.

    According to a guy working at the Chrysler place in Pickering, Chrysler Can isnt the problem- they sell more then enough of the cars here to keep folks happy..its a matter of the US market. The cars we produce here of course mostly go to the states- and sales there are terrible- but the Canadian market share isnt collapsing at all.


    Or hell-maybe he just wanted me to buy a car there.
