    Question BRANDER Gas Grill - Anyone have one?

    OK, A tad off topic, but....

    Lisa and I are looking at possibly replacing our 3 year old Broil King Imperial propane grill.

    We went to a BBQ place in Oakville today and I saw a grill made by a company called BRANDER, based in Calgary, Alberta. I really like the idea of buying Canadian, and this grill is priced about $1,000 less than a comparable Weber model, which is what I originally figured we would get.

    Anyone have one of these? Do you like it?

    After three years you are replacing a grill? Thats when my Weber started to break in, and it still is kicking ass going on 19 freekin years.

    I grill a lot. I mean a LOT. I also never used a cover, so it was exposed to the elements for 4 winters. (We got it in December 2005).

    It is still fully functional, but it's definitely beyond "broken in".

    Ignitor no longer works and it probably needs a new venturi, and the cast iron grills and cast iron "briquettes" also need replacing. Could get it near back to new for a few bucks, I suppose, but I'd rather just get something nicer and bigger and give this one away to someone.

    As for the "Brander" model, I don't want to cheap out and have something that looks comparable but falls apart. Was hoping someone might have one, but I guess not...

    I had a Ducane for about 20 years. It went with the sale of the house. Best one I ever had. Was at my cousins to-day, their Brander is three years old and the line is plugged. Taking it in for a rebuild!

    I'm going on my 4th year for my BroilKing it's going in the garbage this year though it will only just support it's own weight now.

    I'm looking for something new but I can't justify $1000 for a grill.

    I went to Goeman's Appliances yesterday. They had some jaw-droppingly nice grills there.

    Everything from $650 to more than 8 grand for a grill. Yes. 8 grand for a grill.
