Writers strike!

Well guys looks like we got sort of an official word from our Producers & Creators of the T.V. show NUMB3RS that i work on. It will be ending the season on the 12th episode(normally 24 episodes). Our last day of filming will be on Nov. 30th. We wont know if we'll be back in Jan. or June 2008. This really sucks! Especially now that i'm closing escrow on the 30th of Nov., but also my wife is due to give birth in January. I sure hope these writers get this strike settled or its gonna ruin alot of our family & friends in this business. Well i guess for now all we can do is pray & keep our fingers crossed that it doesn't go another 22 weeks like it did in 1988...............

third.... enjoy the moment ... things will work themselves out ..... dont let the writers smother something so spectacular as the birth of your child... nor the closing of your home.... God never give you more than you can handle. I have lived 50 years on that ... and so far...it hasnt been wrong.

I worry about the stuff I can change.... no use in worring about the other stuff.

They will return.. heck.. they may not even go out ... but yeah.. got my fingers crossed for you too

When I was growing up my Dad went through a number of strikes that always hurt us economically. When I would question him about the validity of the strike and how he would never make up the losses he would say "we are doing it for the ones coming after us". As a Teamster for 35 years I also found out what he meant by going through tough lock outs and strikes! You will persevere!!

Thanks guys for the kind words. We were told a few weeks ago that our show would run with or with out the strike, so this was kind of shocking to get the news yesterday. It seems that our writers want to stick together with the WGA to get whats owed to them. My honest opinion is that they are not realizing what its going to do to our economy along with our nations debt due to the war. I just hope some one higher up in our government steps in and resolve this contract with the writers....."Thanks again everyone for your thoughts and prayers!"

Here's the latest on the WGA strike. So they will be going back to the negotiating table Monday 26, November. I really hope something positive comes out of that meeting."They really need to end this soon!"

Just found out today from our producers at work(NUMB3RS) that the writers guild should be coming to an agreement by the end of the week!!! Keeping my fingers crossed and taking any helpfull prayers that this happens very soon......
