ok, so how bout starting a thread about dealers in so cali? i guess nor cal too, since we don't have them seperated.

anyways, which dealer have you guys have good experience with, which have bad experience? etc etc etc.

i'm trying to avoid dealership work if i can (much rather turn my own wrench). but i figure there will be time when i'll need them and was wondering who would be good to take it too

also, post if the dealer is mod friendly or not, tha's a biggie

OK. I'll start. I can HIGHLY recommend Valley Dodge/Subaru in Van Nuys. These guys are just amazing. No-bull, straight-up pricing policy from the sales guys (ask for Marcus), to an extraordinarily knowlegable service dept, I've had nothing but excellent service going back four years when we bought our WRX from them. Four months ago, they gave me a great deal on the Magnum RT I'd been lusting over. After an inaugural high speed run to Reno during which I was horrified to find that the new beast was governed to a shade under 130 mph, Mike the service manager commiserated and OFFERED to recalibrate the computer to accomodate the Zenetti Dueces and Toyo Proxes that I had bolted on. He also OFFERED to replace the rear spoiler which had started to ooze that gooyey gasket gunk. Naturally I took him up on the offers. It was nice not having to ask for stuff to be done. When I told him I was installing Zoomers (actually Ron and Frank installed them, I'm not that mechanically inclined) he told me what to watch for with after market systems, but didn't freak out at all. The guys at Valley Dodge know their stuff and seem to be mod-friendly as well.

    Whazzup y'all...

I went to Valley Dodge twice for an MagSRT and they were doing the $10,000 over MSRP nonsense. Had a hard quote from Huntington Beach Dodge (due to my buddy being a manager at Galpin Ford, but that's another story...) at $1000 under MSRP (which still leaves $2000 profit)...but they wouldn't match it. Bought the car at HB Dodge...but it got totalled in a month.

Went back to Valley Dodge to replace the car and got the same BS, except that they would match the price on a red MagSRT, but not the black one they had. HB jerked me around the second time, so I got a better deal at Reseda Dodge on a black MagSRT replacement (at $2700 below MSRP), but they were shady and went back on a few verbal promises, then cheaped out on a full tank of gas, so I won't be giving them any more $$.

I will check out Valley Dodge for service, since they are a big dealer, but I will keep my eye on 'em fer sure...

Do y'all do any 'cruise nights' in the Valley? Used to be popular with Harleys a while back... Hope to meet you cats at some point -- Brian

Let me say that Kings Jeep Dodge Chrysler in Brooklyn on Flatbush Ave absolutely sucks.
I get my car serviced at Bay Ridge Chrysler Jeep Dodge on 66th street and is great.
However I bought my car from a Smithtown dealer which i think is on jericho turnpike, but that could be wrong.
Im a practical joker, so dont take anything seriously. GOT IT. GOOD.

Is that closer to Santa Monica or Hollywood? j/k

I bought my car from a dealer in Denver to avoid mark ups. I have it serviced @ Buerge Chrysler Jeep in West LA and I'm very happy with them.

I bought my mag at cerritos dodge I got a good deal and they were friendly. The problem is I took my car to Whitter Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep on whittier blvd and boy did they suck!! I took it in for TSB work( trans leak hot A/C on start) up on a rainy day. When we got there the service writer Anthony was very rude and when he went to get the vin and milage he just sat there with the door open while it poured rain in the car. So while I was explaining the problems he said he new about the trans leak but said there was no a/c TSB on this car but he would look into it. The next day he calls my wife and tells her there is no tsb for the ac and that it blows cold at 42. So I call him and he tells me that it seems normal I say its not and I will call him back with the tsb info. So I call him back give him the info then he calls my wife back and says he found the tsb but it was for a 300 but he would fix it anyway like he was doing us a favor. Oh I almost forgot I asked if he culd check out any other TSB's for me and he said no that would take him all day. Anyway they fix the car and I go to pick it up and the rude male cashier hands me the keys and tells me it's out there somewhere just to look around. I couldn't belive the crappy service. I work for an automotive oil change company and when I went to pick up the car they were even rude about the company that I work for

Got mine at Victorville Dodge after searching from LA to Riverside. All wanted more than list back in June of 05. Went thru the internet and Juan (fleet mgr) got me a deal I could NOT pass up. Also I could search their inventory right online, found what I wanted, they had it and I got it in 1 day. Even did well with a trade in.
Of course the test is as a return customer with service and all worked out well. Service dept is open till midnight. Love that! Also love the Starbucks inside the waiting area (free coffee) and the Enterprise rentals.
and they call to see if all was fine with the service and call the day before your appt to remind you. huh? from a Dodge Dealership? WTF?

I purchased my CSRT8 from Bob Baker (in Carlsbad) through the internet/fleet sales. Got a good deal when everyone around a 150 mile radius was asking for minimum $5K over sticker (got mine ordered for sticker). At the time, my local dealership (Norm Reaves) was asking $20K for the exact same car and the cheapest was $5k over at Foothill.

I've taken my car once to Norm Reaves once and it was a great experience. No BS and very informative about issues and TSBs.
He's off and flyin' as he guns the car around the track
He's jammin' down the pedal like he's never comin' back
    Adventure's waitin' just ahead!
