I am currently in the Army Recruiting School and I have just been informed that I will be heading your way! What can I expect to see on the West Coast, never been on this of the Mississippi River?

Also, what kind of lighting laws are there in CA? I usually drive with my amber halo's on all the time and have had no problems here in GA/SC.

Yeah, I was originally hoping to go down to FL but I guess the Army has other plans for me, lol.

having grown up in sacramento, finish college, married, divorced, kids, etc........ i still miss the nor-cal area. the central valley of california, sacramento specifically, has the unique position to allow you to be skiing by driving a 1 1/2 hours to the east, and the next day be at the beach in carmel after another 1 1/2 drive. if you are a motorcycle person, nothing beats the roads in the foothills and sierra nevada mountains!!! overall it is a very nice area.

As someone who has grown up in Sacramento, it's a great area. Gorgeous views, especially towards 99 South in once you leave Elk Grove. Lighting laws arent too bad really. I don't think they care as long as they can see you. Welcome to the neighborhood!
