    Buttonwillow Track Day

I don't have pictures or video up yet, but it was a fun day (run by SpeedVentures) at Buttonwillow this past weekend. A much more technical track than Willow Springs, and just a blast.

They will be there again the first weekend in November, and I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully next time I won't be the only big american car there!

I'll add the videos as soon as they are processed.

Power steering was fine -- but then again, the old (pre-replacement) unit was fine at Thunderhill, so it's hard to compare that. We were running what's on their site as a Race #25 configuration -- meaning, CCW, down through the esses all the way north to the 'star mazda' turn, then back up, over the hill, into Riverside and the back straight (rather than the bus stop), while using the old button hook corner in the northeast to come back to sunrise corner.

Lots of room to stretch the legs and still get some tight technical stuff. I had a lot of fun through the esses. No matter how bad the rest of the lap was, I could do no wrong through there

According to Google Maps, it's about 135 miles from downtown. You can just go to that site and put in:

"(my address) to Buttonwillow Raceway Park" (or anywhere else you can think of!)

I hadn't forgotten about this, but I looked at the video...and...well...there's really not enough dramamine available for me to put it online.

We'll try and get better footage in a couple of weeks at Thunderhill.
