What a lousy way to wake up...

Well, its now 3am, but this day will go down as one of the worst in a while :(

Get to bed last night around 3:30, my consulting gig driving me nuts... After a 1 day trip to San Jose for my day job...

8:30 am, get waken up by someone knocking at the door.. Damn, let me sleep. Where is the wife? Call her, Oh.. raining so hard, she drove the kids to school...

Back to bed

8:45, Hunny... um.. there is water in the basement... Turn off the main water valve... Wake me in an hour...

After 5 minutes, I wake up, what the hell.. Did my wife say there was water in the basement? Frick.

Go down stairs, turn off the main valve... I can hear the water in the crawl space. ARG!

Main valve, off.. water still coming out... Tired... So tired..

Call up plumbers... All booked till mid afternoon... This is going to be a long day...

Figure, time to go turn off the water at the street. Just what I needed, a stinky day... no shower...

Go to the water main, its under water... Why do I love oregon? Arizona sounds nice right about now... Heck.. Gobi Desert sounds nice.

Its cold... Grab a wrench, cant turn the water valve.. My hands are turning pink from being under water (its 40 degress out) trying to turn off the valve..

Screw it. I call the water company. They come by (in like 5 minutes), turn off the water. Cool.. Check the running water under my kitchen area...

Still coming.. WTF? The waters guys, come in, check the water, its not chlorinated. Its fricking rain water! Call up the storm water people, maybe something is blocked somewhere...

But, the flooding in my basement, is by the hot water heater, there is a drain there. The water guy says, that draing should be able to handle this water. The water shouldnt be here, but that drain is clogged.

Call back plumber, say its a drain issue. Good news. They can be tehre in an hour.

45 minutes later... We are running late, its going to be around 2 morehours.

I run out to lunch, come home, and get anohter call. we are really sorry, it may be as late as 4pm..

Gets to my house around 4pm, Ive been shop vac'ing the area... Starts setting up... and the fricking power goes out.

FRICK! He gives me his cell phone, says call him when power comes back on.

8 hours later.. midnight... It comes on..

THe drain people are coming tomorrow morning.

I need to get some work done... ok... I needed my LX forums fix for the day.. but its now 3 am, Im dead tired. I have to go into my day job tomorrow since I called in flooded today.

Jeez.. At least I get to play withmy PS3 tomorrow!

sorry to hear of your misfortunes. i'm guessing the north-west is not the best place to live right now. hang in there. even noah had a positive outlook.

hope it all works out for you.

Well today is starting out better... My kids school is closed for weather...

Or is it, hey, if we cancel school, we can have our vacation start a day early...

Nah thats too cynical...
