Our 20 year old daughter Shawna, has been in Perth Australia for three weeks now. She will be there until June, for Missions training through the YWAM program. During the first week, she came down with a nasty tooth infection. That part of her problems has been taken care of.
Now she is in, kind of a university hospital. She was having chest pains and pains in her legs. Her whole right leg is swollen big time. The latest we heard, was they thought it was probably blood clots! So right now she has been sleeping for three hours and we have no idea how she is, or what's going on.
So I'm asking for your prayers, your thoughts, and positive funk! We are praying that the medical professionals can figure out what's going on and give her the best care possible.
Here's my take on socialized health care: Shawna waited in emergency for 9 hours before she saw a doctor. She finally was admitted into a room after 5 more hours. Her name is handwritten on a piece of scratch paper, and scotch-taped to the end of her bed, for easy patient identification. The staff will not tell us anything about Shawna, due to their rules. As soon as Shawna wakes up.....we can find out what's going on with our daughter. If Shawna wants to talk to her parents, she'll need to rent a phone for her hospital room. WTF?
People in the U.S. that think socialized healthcare is the way to go.......better think again.
Thank you, my family!
Here's a pic of Shawna on Aussie sand before her turmoil!
