    Oops, I dwopped it.....

Well, thanks to Adam and Steve (and Kris for the Pizza), my car now sits about an inch to an inch and a half lower! An SRT8 suspension minus all of the isolators and a set of hotchkis sways was installed today and has inspired new uber driving confidence

I still have to get an alignment but as of right now, I can feel such an insane difference and the stance is beautiful! Pictures coming soon!

Very nice. That would be a nice upgrade. I just picked up a factory SRT-8 exhaust from Alpha the other day, so I'm pretty excited to get that length of big pipes put it.

Here are some cell phone pics.
This was taken when it was first dropped down off the lift. After Tony took it out and drove it the front end settled down so it is now even front and rear. The car looks totally sweet!!!!!!

I'm glad that I got to be a small part of it today Tony!

I'd like to know more about the isolators - wondering how hard it would be to get mine out, and how much difference it would make. I'd love to sit about 1/2 inch lower than the "stock" SRT setup I have right now.

Looks great Tony, can't wait to see it in person.

The isolators theoretically should not be any issue at all to get out of the rear, just to put the car on stands, unbolt the rear shocks and then drop the rear cradle with the 4 18 mil. bolts, or maybe to just take the wheel off and use spring compressors, but the front, the whole strut would have to come out and be disassembled. As far as the difference, there is no added sound at all that I can notice, but the car handles like it is on rails! Even without an alignment, it just goes into a turn and feels like it is only natural to go faster, there is pratically no body roll anymore. The ride feels no different except if going over little sharp bumps in that it is just more abrupt and jiggles rather than filling the bumps in like with stock. The car does not squat under accleeration or dive when braking anymore either, it feels like a 4000 pound sports car (if that is ever possible Lol).

I really do wonder, however, how much suspension travel is lost with the removal of the isolators, I can put all my weight on the fron of the car on one side and barely get it to move down like you would as if you were testing a strut the old fashioned way. I would like to see how much a stock SRT8 would travel under the same test.

All you SRT8 guys though should contemplate removing your isolators as a free mod, I still have to put two of the four rear isolators in as the rear still sits about 1/4 of an inch higher than the front, I guess this is the trial and error that comes with this kind of mod

    I'm confused. Maybe that's just a typo?
If the rear is higher, why put isolators back in? Did you mean the rear is lower?

Oops, lol... yes, the front still sits a bit higher so I will have to install 2 of the 4 isolators back into the rear.
