Car back from the shop...does this sound right to you?

Ok...so Preek is back.
They found a leak in the rear diff.....I guess it was a pinion seal. Fixed.
They found no oil leak at all. Hmmm.

Here is the issue. My lights have been pulsing for the last couple of months. I figured it had to be a short somewhere...or my battery being too weak to run everything efficiently...

The guy tells me the tech said it is due to me not having an update for my computer. They can update for a mere 91 dollars, and it *should* fix the problem.

I am confused. Why in the world would my lights flash due to lack of a computer update?
And if this was the case, wouldn't my car have thrown a code the last time I took it in for the same problem?
Last time they said they couldn't make it happen, which is BS...because it does it everytime you turn on the car.

So what do yall think? Enlighten me with your awesomeness.

Yep....there was a TSB way back when for an updated flash to cure the pulsing light issue......$90 sounds about right for an hours labor.

TSB's are treated at no charge unless the original warranty has expired. Given Meg's age...oops...Meg's car's age and mileage, no freebie here.

I've heard about this TSB before but never had to have it done. Being an early '05, I'm not surprised you need to have this done. No codes would be thrown unless the lights totally failed, Meg.

You don't have any halos, HID conversion kits, large audio amps or such on the car, right?

First thing I'd do is test the battery and the charging system before doing anything else.

What do you guys/gal mean by pulsing lights? My lights on the interior are brighter when I open the door, and noticeably less bright when closed.

I know right!! My 3yr 36k is up in 120 miles, so want to get all the little bugs worked out before I have to start paying a deductible on the new warranty.

No mosh pits, just a lot of people zoned out in their own little worlds on X and a bunch of guys doing liquid with glow sticks or mickey mouse gloves.. It's an interesting experience. The music is damn good though.
