So what class is my 2011 challenger? It's not an LX.. I've been to this show several times, but not 2009 as it got more disorganized each time. You should really take a page out of the births book. There's seems to run good from a participant stand point. Just my 2 cents

Yeah I just looked at the classes. You're SOL.
Even our club has a modern muscle class (thanks to yours truly)

For whatever reason it seems like the Tacoma club is resisting change. It's too bad cause for years I've told folks Sunbust was the best show in the NW.

Thanks for the questions and comments.

bskylerj - The class your car would be allowed in would be Class three "LX Modified" I understand that the Challenger is not technically an LX, but if that truly were the case, you probably would have never had come to this web page.

427 R/T SE - Thank you for the comments on the "club class". As for the resistance to change, I do apolizige. To this point, there are only three or four members in our club (to include myself) who have new LX type cars (out of almost 80 members) our voice to get more classes is too small to change things right now. Also, there is a cash and logistics issue to it. We have our ballots and all paperwork printed on a three year basis, to change the classes would require all new paperwork. (the "club class" was minimal work to add)

Challenger_moe - Last year we didn't have a seperate class, it was just that no LX cars showed up, there was a boycott due to the lack of classes.

I hope next year we can get a few more classes for LX cars, but another fear is that more cars will show up. We are pretty much out of room at Frontier Park right now. Hopefully by next year I will be able to get these issues sorted out, and the Tacoma club can get more classes.

First off this site has the Challenger and it's listed separate. Secondly I have been here since 2006. I started with a 05 300C then moved to other Lx's. You talk on the money and printing for 3 years out. I've been to your show with my LX and we had at different times 30 to 50 of them. We paid for our own awards. And with that many cars in 07 and 08 you woulda thought you could add us for the next print job. Will your show go on without us? Yes it will, at least for a while. It's just extra enthusiasts and extra revenue for your club but who wants that when your club is obviously in it for themselves. Maybe you should just buy each member a trophy and hand it out at dinner then they don't have to deal with outsiders. Just a thought.

Dont take this wrong, I love my older mopars and Chevys. I've built a bunch of both. I'm just an enthusiast that loves cars. I just find it odd they ate not open to change. You can't run a business that way. Not very long anyways. I would guess until they change for some you won't see many newer cars or the money they bring in.

I had my Challenger in in Sunbust last year and there were like 15 Challengers that particpated. Not much of a boycott in my eyes. My wife helped count ballots and we're not even club members. She said the counting was ethical and no count inflation was done to slant a win to one car over another. If I put my car in the show this year, it will have to be in the LX Modified class which is a tough class to win when theres like 15 Challengers and some have supershargers and custom paint. However, I do not attend shows to win... I attend to mingle with fellow auto nuts, talk about cars, enjoy the day, and mess with people using my remote controlled front license plate

"However, I do not attend shows to win... I attend to mingle with fellow auto nuts, talk about cars, enjoy the day, and mess with people using my remote controlled front license plate "

I agree completely. The thought "I should win because I've dump untold thousands extra into my car" is self absorbed.

To those of you who've done plenty to your car why not bring it out and show the people, show everyone you have some seriously nice cars, show them how you personalized your WHIP. The people who deserve to see them are the car nuts/fans/enthusiasts, kids that think they are the "coolest" and women who think their man would look good in it and the MAN who is definitely jealous of your ride. You've dumped untold thousands extra into your car just so you can stay home and sulk because you didn't win or are not going to win a "trophy". Is your ego dependent on the "trophy". I've heard from many "unlimited" club members that go to and enter their cars for the exact reason stated above. And you know what... they've got a lot of personal time and money wrapped up in their cars, but they go for the personal aspect of the show and if a "trophy" is given to them then that's a bonus.
So to all that this is referencing keep your car at home in your garage and only show it to the people with the same mindset and attitude,,,,,your hurting no one but yourself and quite frankly i could care less , and stop coming on this thread every year and bitching about the same thing it's tiresome. The ones that go to the show always have a good time win or lose, and I'm sure that they don't want attitudes or dark clouds/complaining ruining their day.

THIS is my opinion, but I'm sure a lot of others have the exact same opinion. I mean no disrespect to anyone nor do i mean to make anyone angry.

    I'm off my soapbox now

    regards

    Kevin

I was also there last year and had a great time, I did think there was a seperate class for us but I guess thats because all we had was challengers, "and one lonly 300c" Caught some flack from older generation people "not sure if club members or not" about our cars not being TRUE challengers, but I just avoid the ignorant ones. other then thast it was good times.
by the way 00DakotaR/T do you still have those match box cars from last year??
