    Rocky Mountain LX Meet

    Hi All,
I'm the director of the Rocky Mountain Muscle Car Classic at Pikes Peak International Raceway south of Colorado Springs, and I'd like to announce our first ever Rocky Mountain LX Meet on May 30th. The LX Meet will be held simultaneously with the Southern Colorado Mopar Festival. I need a couple more posts and I'll list our websites with everything you need to know.

The Rocky Mountain Muscle Car Classic is a new concept in car shows, in addition to the Southern Colorado Mopar Festival and the Rocky Mountain LX Meet, we have a Mustang and All-Ford Roundup in it's 15th year and the 1st Southern Colorado All-GM Event. All 4 shows will be separate and each show will have it's own awards.
We decided that this year we would breakout the LX\LC\LY cars to show the public and some old-time Mopar owners what these cars are all about. The Mustang show has recognized all Mustangs right up to the newest models off the show room floor and if things go well for the new Camaro, I'm sure we'll see those cars at 2010's All-GM event.
The sponsoring clubs are the Southern Colorado Mopars, the Southern Colorado Mustang Club (with assistance from the Rocky Mountain Mustangers), and the Southern Colorado Corvette Club.
PPIR used to be a NASCAR owned track up to summer of 2008 when it was sold to an investment group from South Carolina. There will be racing (no NASCAR or IRL) at the track this year but attendence will be limited to no more than 12000 as a condition of the sale.
For more information about the LX Meet please visit: http://southerncoloradomopars.org/2009MoparFest.htm

    Thanks,
    Tony D.

A new feature has been added after the show. Car owners will be able to drive their cars on the track in groups of 20 following a pace car. Anyone who wishes to drive on the one-mile oval will be put into a lottery to determine their turn. Once every group hears the rules, they will proceed on to pit road and around the track.
    Finally, this perk is free!!
