Las Cruces, NM might be hitting the map finally

    Hi,

I've seen a lot of LX owners around here. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why there weren't a few more members from my area. I thought there had to at least be a few.

I've seen Albuquerque and El Paso TX represented.

So yesterday I park at Subway directly in front of a Blue Magnum RT "nose-to-nose" and leave a note for the owner about LXForums. They walk out of a store and we get to talking. Turns out this lady really loves her Magnum (go figure) and loves it's get up and go. I told her about LXForums and mentioned some of the really great stuff I've learned here. She was all ears and was very interested in checking it out.

So today I park at Lowes directly in front of a silver Magnum RT and leave a note for the person about LXForums. I come out of Lowes and they are getting in their car and she starts to get that note out from under her windshield wiper. By that time I'm within a few paces and I tell her how I also hate it when I have something under my wiper but I left it so that she could find out about a really cool website about these cars. We get to talking a little bit and she seems really interested in this site too.

Maybe they both were smiling and nodding to get the crazy bald dude to stop talking and going away, but I'm usually very good at detecting that "smile and nod" and either go away or make the creepiness much worse... These to ladies seemed like they'd really like to see what this site has to offer.

Hopefully they will cruise by here and check it out. If I don't have enough local LXers here, I'll get them myself. lol. Drag them to the website if I have to.

In all seriousness it was nice to meet them and hope they didn't think I was too much of a freak for being a stranger talking to them in the parking lot about their cars.

    Laters all.

Cool, I do it all the time and hand out the LX Forums cards. I don't think any of them ever logged in. Heck I must not be as good a Salesman as I thought!!

I've talked this site up to 2 Magnum owners and a Charger owner. No one has joined yet. Maybe I scared them off?

Heh perhaps. Some people really look at the internet and internet sites as a *Very* low priority on their todo lists. I tried to communicate to these people just how valuable I found the information on this site to be.

You would scare your own brother away... bawahahahahaah.. J/k

It's a matter of the people you talk with on why they purchased the car..... Not everyone likes to sit in front of the computer and read everyones life stories... lol

I have spoke to several people about all the forums and I have only had maybe four of 20 register.... It just takes time, if you build it, they will come.....

Saw a black Charger in Albuquerque turning onto Montgomery. Last time I was in 'burque I saw the same Charger on Comanche. Must live around the same place I visit family.

It had shiny chrome rims. Didn't see any more than that as I passed him a "T" intersection. Dunno if he saw me flash him the universal "Rock On!" horns. LOL. Nice ride.

YO, I am not from L.C. but I am your next door neighbor. I am stationed at Holloman in Alamogordo. Nothing special about the Mag yet to make it stick out but soon, well more like after the first of the year. Maybe I will see ya when I pass though, I am there at least twice a month esp now since RoadRunner Cysle is working on my bike. LATER, Just wanted to say HI

Hey Tonka. Rock on! What color Mag did you get ?

I'm usually on I70 between 4:45 and 5:30 most days between White Sands and Cruces. I've seen a Mag running both directions on that highway around those times in the past couple months. Glad you found the forums!

Wish I would have found this thread earlier. I just bought a "new" 05 AWD maggie rt from Sisbarro and then promptly had to move to Arizona. I stay in touch with friends in Cruces. might see you there

Slick. I test drove one at sisbaro but didn't like the way the salesman was treating me. I wound up buying one from Jack Key in Alamogordo. They've been treating me great ever since.

Glad to hear from ya TJ. Hope you are liking it in AZ... there are a few LXers over that way too.

    Hi there,

New member here from Alamogordo, with a new Magnum. '05 Inferno Red R/T ... also with a Roof Rack ... must be common from Jack Key/Alamogordo. Bought it from dealer (Jack Key/Alamogordo) with 2700 miles. Guess they were having an issue selling it, since they had both '06s and '07s on the lot.
