Exclamation Free car show every Sat. at Home Depot.

Just north of Austin, outside of Cedar Park. West of the Parmer Lane-RM 1431 intersection. Next to Whataburger. Yesterday was the first time I went. I saw a '67 Mustang that ran the Big Bend Open Road race. Pics here (not mine). There was a drag boat, like this one. Here's a link of a similar boat. I saw a '52 Packard, a Studebaker with a V8, a '55 and '56 Chevy. There was a '53 Ford, a '68 Cuda, and a Grand National. There was even a cooler a young girl was riding. It was like across between a cooler and a Razor scooter. Even a few motorcycles. I'll be back with my camera.

Wow! 38 views and not one comment. It's just as well because there was an article in the paper today that Home Depot "had complaints" from customers that they couldn't find parking, so they're kicking them out. BS! I was there last Sat. and there was plenty of parking. There was an earlier article about it a coupe of weeks ago that may have screwed thing up. I'm bummed now.

moparman53... didn't see this thread until just now. Looks like some nice cars, and what a variety... all the way to power boats!

Regarding the BS customers... Sat. I was at a "cruise in" car show (no judging, just some cool cars - but - didn't have a camera). Anyway, when it came time to leave, the organizers would stop traffic on the frontage road so that 5-6 cars could exit. Then let the local traffic flow by.

Boy! Did the traffic guys here about that as some local cars came along the frontage road... the thought that someone was so inconvenienced by having to stop on the road for, maybe, 45 sec while a few cars pulled out of a parking lot! It's not like they were blocking traffic until the lot cleared.

These weren't customers of the place holding the meet in their lot, but still they spew vitriol at volunteers just because they think they own the road and are more important than anyone.
Still in love with my first wife, and first car ('68 Charger)... Still have the wife!

They've been doing it for about 10 years. Sooner or later, they get run off and have to find a new place. Too bad my town of Taylor, TX is too far; we have an abandoned Wal-Mart and a HEB (grocery store). They both built new stores across from each other a few years ago.

I heard from a customer that the old HEB in Round Rock has had a few folks show up. It's at the intersection of Mays and 79 (Palm Valley). Round Rock is a good central location for this area, IMHO.

The cooler she was riding is from a company called Cruzin Coolers, based here in Austin. They are my clients. They have gas and electric models that seat 1,2,or 3 people. They are pretty cool!
