Exclamation South Barrington: Willow Creek Car Shows - Saturday - Sunday

    This Saturday & Sunday...

    http://wccc.blogs.com/willow_news/20...t-dadfest.html

    Celebrate Dad at DadFest

Those celebrating Father's Day will find a one-of-a-kind event in a very unexpected place: a church parking lot.

On June 20/21, one of Willow Creek Community Church’s parking lots—larger than two football fields—will be transformed into a sea of shiny chrome on everything from unique and exotic cars to motor homes, motorcycles, boats, and trucks It’s all a part of DadFest—one of the most fun and unique experiences available to families on Father’s Day.
In addition to loads of custom vehicles, DadFest also includes free hot dogs, and live 60s & 70s music from “The Fabulous Ambassadors” and “Denny Diamond.” Under tents set up in the parking lot, attenders can meet others who live near them, get connected, and enjoy music and food.

Wayne Cordeiro, founder and senior pastor of New Hope Christian Fellowship O’ahu, is the guest speaker at weekend services with a message entitled “The Dream Releasers.” DadFest takes place following the 5:30 p.m. service on Saturday, June 20 and following the 9 and 11:15 a.m. services on Sunday, June 21. Admission is free.
DadFest is sponsored by the C.A.R.S. Ministry of Willow Creek, a ministry that takes in cars and reconditions them for those who are unable to meet their own transportation needs.

Just a follow up note to this event....

What a great show! Definitely would like to make it back for this event next year, hopefully with more of the crew in tow. Some truly amazing cars, and very family-oriented outing. I loved it (despite the fierce sunburn I was suffering through).

Free parking, free admission, free registration (for the vehicle), free hot dogs, free water.... it was impossible to be dissatisfied with this event.

So like I said, Id definitely like to roll in there next year with a huge pack of LX's.... it was a great time!

Definitely a fun event. The hospitality was great. Just a bunch of regular folks appreciating cars. That said, it is a family setting and if you can get over people getting close and even touching you're ride, you'll have a good time. There were a lot of impressive cars.
