    Solid Michigan Dealers

so who has the best dodge dealer here in michigan? it would have to include good service before and after the sale, a willingness to work with you, a smart and friendly service manager, and a feeling that you'll buy your next car from these people.

im really not posting this to hear about negative comments for specific dealers, i would rather see the thread go towards recognizing above-average dealerships.

this is also research on who i will be dealing with next

I bought my 05 SXT last August at Bob Sax in Farmington Hills because they had what I wanted and 05's were getting scarce. I live within walking distance from **** Szott Dodge on M-59 in Highland and would have preferred to buy there but they only had R/T's and AWD's to offer so I had to go elsewhere. I've been into Szott twice so far; once for 6K service and once for recall and a couple of TSB's. Craig was the write up guy the first time and Scott the second. Both times I couldn't have been treated better. I haven't had need to meet the Service Manager. :-) I tried to buy a couple of items over the parts counter. The parts guy (didn't get his name) was friendly and courteous. They didn't have what I was after, but gave me a printout showing local DCX dealers who did. Seeing as how I travel around western Oakland County as part of my job, going someplace else wasn't a problem. Went to Golling on Telegraph in Bloomfield Hills on a Saturday like 10 minutes before closing. Their inventory showed as having both items, but after an extensive search for one of them (glove box light) he determined that their inventory was faulty and apologized. It was well after closing by this time and there was another customer waiting. The parts guy still had a smile on his face and was working with the last customer as I left. Bottom line, good experience at Golling - at least in the parts dept.

Second that. Great place to take it for service. I too picked up my Magnum from Scott dodge. Maybe we will see each other for service. Oh yeah and the ride back on Hines drive is sweet too.

p.s. live right next to bob sax. (Turn right out of Bob Saks and on the left side of the street across from the apartments, over in Chatam hills subdivision five houses down.) Haven’t taken the Magnum there for service yet, but got a price on using star scan to re-flash the EVIC for $45.00, because I installed the factory U-connect myself and the last step was to get it on the EVIC display, to pricey for a 5 min flash. Oh and Scott was totally amazed to see that I figured out how to install it when they said it couldn’t be done, lol.

Rochester Hills Chrysler/Jeep and Bill Marsh in Traverse City get top marks from me. I try to avoid Meadowbrook Dodge for any service. And for the unwashed, Crestview Cadillac gets my top marks and Crissman L/M gets low marks. Just my opinion over the last 25 yrs in the area.

Golling?? I can't speak for the parts department but the sales and body shop were (and perhaps still is) the absolute worst. This is where I purchased my 05 RT from and it was a joke. I had a total of 4 missed delivery dates. The 4th was extra special because I had all of my financing set up and about 1 hour away from picking up the car and WOOPS - wrong vin#. When I did finally pick it up the rear bumper had a thumbnail sized gouge out if it. This wasn't Gollings fault but more aggrevation for me nonetheless. So, off to the body shop. The manager tried to "sell me" their 1st attempt at repair as within reasonable tolerances when I complained. There was so much debris in the paint it looked like perhaps the painter was eating popcorn and grooming his dog at the same time he was painting. The body shop did finally get it right but it took them 3 attempts.
Lastly, my salesman (the 2nd one) suggested that I NOT to use their service department as it wasn't very good. I'm not sure what was up with this exactly but based off of what I know now - I'm taking his advice. Golling was by far the worst car buying experience I have ever had and would not recommend them to anybody!!
