    Great lakes dragway 5-20-09

I am heading out to Great lakes dragway tonight to try out a new setup and since it's only 20$ to race I was wondering if any LX'ers out there wanna run there car. Should be up there by 7:30. BTW I saw a SRT8 Challenger tored red in manual at the track and this guy was spinning so bad he could barely break 15's..

Okay, I'm going to start uploading videos from Wed. night at GLD, feel free to add photos of videos as well. Sorry you can't see the times with my Flip camcorder, it's a great dash cam, not a hubble telescope!

Jon (Dodge Ram) running a 6.1 Super Bee. His (Jon) reaction time on the run was .057 of a second off the line, DAMN!!!!

Trevors final run of the night, running Diablo 93 CAI tune, against a Cobra Mustang (modded), and kept right up with him.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PN5XS...e=channel_page

The first run is Zach (Silver Charger RT) verses Dennis (Deep Blue Challenger RT). The second run is Trevor (Yellow Daytona Charger RT) verses Keith (Cool Vanilla Charger RT), Trevor WINS!

I also went out opening week and the track was terrible. It was still way to cold and when you pay 12$ they really don't prep the track great.

This was the first time out this year at GLD's, but I'm not so sure the track was preped so well, still a complete blast as always. I watched two SRT's a B5 Bee and Challenger, a couple late model GTO's run high 13's to 14 consistantly. YellowNanner ran against a 03' superchargered Cobra (the second video down), which had his best run of 13.6 all the way to 13.9, not to metion the Z06's runnning as high as mid 15's. So that should give an idea of the track prep, lol! I'm not ruling out driver error, I'm just saying what I saw.

gotta be track prep AND driver error on the zo6 and some of those cars. lol.

last time i was out there with the CAMM members i ran a 12.8 with a crap 60ft time.

cool videos. looked like the vanilla one dragged the brake out of the hole against the nanner. it also looked like Zach needs an SRT ESP switch instead of a "no esp" switch. he was spinning one tire out of the water box. with sticky tires on a sticky track our cars spin one most of the time (they spin 2 on the street) with the SRT switch it spins 2 every time in the burnout. we did some research at GLD last time out with a couple CAMM members chargers and came to the consensus that "no esp" mod = crap on the drag strip. its great on the street but the sticky track pisses the car off and makes it spin one. we all got better times with the SRT switch on "esp off" instead.

Saw two challengers srt orange the one with the supercharger his best that nite was 12.6 the other was 13.4 saw a blue superbee and a blue gto go at it they were in the 13.6 from what I saw

Was impressed to see a new ZR1 corvette there blue one first pass 15 second 14 and the last one I saw was 13.4

Wow, excellent observation!!! That actually was the first run where I tried to rev about 15-1700 rpms at launch while holding down the brake, didn't work so well that time, as you noticed, lol!

Who sells the SRT "No ESP" mod? Never even knew that was an option for the RT's.
