Chi area - Meet & Greet Sat June 20 anyone?

Anyone down for a M&G this Saturday? For all those dad's out there, we'll call it the "Father's Day Eve" M&G.

Location: Gene & Jude's
2720 N. River Rd., River Grove, IL

Time: Shall we say 1pm?

It is on River Road, just north of Grand, right behind the BP gas station.

For those that have never been there, they are known for their hot dogs. They have a nice size parking lot.

So help save a few dollars, I wouldn't mind packing a cooler in the truck with some sodas. Maybe a 12 pack of Coke and a 12 pack of Sprite.

On a side note, the BP gas station has a McDonald's in it. For every 12 gallons you fill up, they give you a voucher for a free BigMac. I aways fill up but never get food. I have about 10-15 vouchers. I'll take them with me in case anyone is also craving a BigMac.

I know some people may not be fans of BigMac but they may be fans of free food! lol

There's a good chance that the place will still be packed Daniel. Me, Pat, and Eric jumped in Motor's ride for a parts run for Ekaz's engine build a few weeks ago and the place was sitll packed at 2 pm.

So are you saying we should get there earlier?

They open at 10:30am.

We've had M & Gs at the RAM near there a couple times... not that I'd have a car to come to this anyway:( They have a big lot adjacent to theirs, so plenty of parking.

Another option, if you all are interested, I could host a BBQ.

If more people would prefer this, let me know so that I can make a run to the store and stock up on food.

Im certainly down for a local get together.... however, I think Im going to be a bit busy Saturday during the morning/early afternoon. I LOVE the idea of getting together at Gene n Jude's, but I think ANY Saturday is out fo the question. They are insanely busy on Saturdays, and that lot just isnt big enough to fit all of us in there along with their regular customers as well. If we want to do a meet there, I think a week night would be the best bet.

(And as for roping off spots.... I doubt that will ever fly. They are the kind of place that would tell you they are going to fill the spots regardless of whether our club comes or not, so I wouldnt bother with that)

As for Saturday though, if someone wanted to set up a little late afternoon/early evening meet, I wouldnt be opposed to that. I think Busse Woods is always open.....

Thanks Pat! That's all I was asking for! If people can't, at least provide some other suggestions.

As I had stated, I could host a BBQ. There is also a park near by, Gouin Park, on Fullerton and Scott, between 25th Ave and Mannhiem.
