How long do Brembo pads last ?

I have a 2010 Challenger SRT8 6 spd with less than 40,000 kms on it. While in for an oil change at the stealership
the tech advised my front pads were getting "thin" and that I should change both rotors & pads; and he quoted me CAD$ 520.00 for the whole job...wtf ? :blam:

I don't track the car, & only use it for stop & go city driving (i.e. groceries, car meets, liquor/beer store, etc.)
Do our Brembos only have that short life span ? Second opinion perhaps ?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

if you don't have any brake pedal pulsation, then you can just change pads. it doesn't get much easier to change pads then on brembo's. you tube it. pads from rock auto are $30-75. us.

Even pulsation should be cured with bedding in pads properly. Rotors don't really warp the way people believe they do. It's the uneven build up on the rotor that pulses the brakes. First hand experience talking here, I thought my rotors were warped as f* and was bout to buy a set then figured what have I got to lose just to try and bed then in properly, well it worked, 6 months later still no pulsation.

Get out on an empty road somewhere, get up to about 50-60 and hard brake down to 5mph do this about 5 times without stopping. Then be on your way, just try to brake all the way down to a coast and let off the brake then stop after doing this for the ride home to avoid over clamping on the rotors when hot. if that makes sense

Or get a mirror and inspect the pads, if they're low replace them and as for the rotors get a micrometer and measure the rotors and see if they're within spec. If all good, do the bed in procedure.

Mine have lasted 100k miles. Ive put about 80 1/4 mile passes and a few spirited driving days on it. Daily driven with a 62 mile round trip drive on mostly highway.
