Hey all,

a little bored at work and thought to post this question.

I am looking into mounting some 20 inch wheels (black)on my Daytona.
Thing is I just cant make up my mind. I am looking for something with a decent lip in the front and rear and also be able to mount my Toyo Proxes on em, size 275/40/20.

So do me a favor and post up some pics of the black rims that you think would look hot on my Daytona..

Thanks!!!

Here is a crappy pic from the race track..
Ill try to get a better one later on...
Feel free to photoshop!!

They're Bonetti Type 102 Black with red inserts. They come in 20"x8.5" with a +15 offset They also come in 22'x9" with a +20 offset. I just bought a set for my car. I have the 275/40/20 Vredesteins on them. I have not mounted them on my car yet because of the snow. I also have the chrome inserts.

Here are a couple of panther wheels.I've seen the Octane's before, and really liked them. Except for that ridiculous center cap.

yeah Kash, go with the bonetti's!!!!
you could possibly contact them to see if they can matte the black to fit with the daytona decals.....:racing:

The black is a satin black. I just got the wheels last week and now having a little problem. My car has the road & track package with upgraded brakes so the front calipers rub on the backside of the spoke area on the wheel. I'm pretty pissed as they said they will fit. Now I am going to need a spacer somewhere between 3-5mm to clear the calipers.
I bought mine fron superbuytires. They are being pretty good about it, since they're info said they would fit. They are giving me the option of returning them or they will make some custom hubcentric spacers to make them fit. Not sure what to do now, I really like the wheels but I really don't like the idea of spacers.
Just a FYI the 20" wheels will fit a regular rt but a road & track or Daytona will require spacers. They said the 22" wheels should clear on a Road & track or Daytona's but not sure.
With your car being a Daytona the same issue will arise. The option will be spacers or maybe Bonetti will make a custom offset to cear the Calipers. I plan on talking to them about it since they advertise they will fit, their website even shows the wheels on a charger.

oh man.. I really love the look of them..
Let us know what you find out.. Maybe I will make some phone calls later today also.

when you say satin black that is like aflat or matte black right? but a bit more glossy?

There is a little sheen to them but nothing like a glossy chrome looking black. I am going to do a little fitment with them tonight to see exactly waht kind of spacer is needed. They actually barely rub and I could probably grind a little off the caliper housing and make them fit.

I did some more in depth fitment checks tonight and it looks like I can get away with a 3mm spacer in the front to clear the calipers. I could actually not even use a spacer and do a little bit of grinding on the upper edge of the caliper and the wheels would clear. I am going to get the spacers since superbuy is going to custom make them for me. I think I will end up grinding the caliper in the long run. I have my calipers painted anyways so with a small amount of effort I will be able to get the wheels to clear and noone will ever be able to tell I did anything to the calipers.
If you like the wheels all it will take is a 3mm spacer or a little grinder work. Alot of guys are running 3mm spacers with srt wheels so shouldn't be a big deal.

What about black 22 vipers they would look killer on your car.

I really want to go with 20's b/c I dont want to lose the performance of my ride and the ride quality so 20's will do just fine..
Do they make the 20 vipers?

bcplatinum

I am pretty sure they make the vipers in 20's.
I weighed the mounted tires last night and here are the comparisons:
Bonetti Black type 102 8.5" rim with Vredestein 275/40/20 = 68lbs
Stock Chrome Clad Daytona(Road & Track) 8" rim with 245/45/20 = 62lbs
Pretty close to stock weight, way better than my 22's

I just went with the stock 18" R/T wheels and had them powder coated black. They look way better, still have stock tires, and I get compliments all the time. I don't ahve the cash to spend on 20's, but I'm happy with the set up. Just my $.02.

Kash
My neighbor is having an open house next Thursday the 21st. Most of the big bling manufactures are there. They also have some pretty good deals on close out and clearance items.

Plus they have free food and BEER.:beerchug:

Here is a picture of some wheels they had on display from a previous open house

Sorry for standing in front of the wheel display :pepper:

More info is on their website
