so would there be a sidewall on them? surely it will have one and they just have that as a cut away to see the innards of it?

Yeah, I saw those on the Discovery channel. Something about them not wearing out. They look a bit silly.

Burnout??!!!!.....
They are real but when will we see them in stores? There maybe other issues with them like vibration and balancing. Best advantage I can see is no flats.
I am just wondering if law enforcement has a say in delaying these into production. Can't stop a vehicle with those nail strips they throw across the road if it has no tire.

Law enforcement didn't stop the RUNFLAT tires when they came out either.

I can picture a SRT8 doing a burnout and the "flexable" spokes all being permanently bent in one direction or breaking them all together. :)

They're intersting, but look like ass.

They are in use on skid steers mainly, dye to the incredible vibration

http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/grinser/grinning-smiley-017.gif I was really hoping that the time of the 12" rim was dead and gone. Seriously though, if you could get the outside spokes in yellow, and the inside in black, you'd have a sunflower http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/grinser/grinning-smiley-008.gif

They are extremely noisy, and this is the main reason for them not going in to the market. Price is a bit high too, since they would need to make a ton of different lug patterns and offsets to fit each car.
