Some people have told me that the chrome lip is more shiny and a lil heavier and the chrome lip is duller, weights less, but will last longer. Any suggestions?

The machined lip won't be near as shiney as the chrome will....I wouldn't worry about the wieght, and both will last as long if they're taken proper care of.
Go for what looks best....I say if you going w/a black wheel...go w/a machined lip...
If the whole wheel is chrome, stick w/a chrome lip..

The chrome lip will most likely be much harder & more expensive to repair, once you've kissed a curb or two. The chrome will have to be completely re-done. Aluminum can often be repaired by sanding, & polishing; sometimes without even dismounting. This isn't a hard fast rule. Aluminum rims are often clear coated, making it a bit tougher to fix. I've see it done tho..........

go with chrome! i had the alumnium and its starting to peel off the clear coat and even some parts are rusting! i have done everything to baby my rims but no luck. I've had them for almost 2 years now been a good set of rims for me but im gonna upgrade to the black vipers as soon as i get the cash. Just my 2 cents go with chrome it will last longer.
