where to get the Vredesteins

i have read alot of good stuff about the Vredesteins and am planning on putting these 275/40/20 on all four corners.

does anyone know if any of our vendors carrys these? i checked discout tires but no Vredesteins. any good deals online somewhere or a store in the philly area? i am also looking for a shop to mount and road force balance.

In my experience(but I could be wrong,but I'm not.lol)275/40 wont fit on the front,clearance issues on the knuckle(I think thats what you call it,different term in UK)but Vreds are budget tyres in the UK and we nickname them (a) slippy sliders or (b) killers.It might be different in the USA,i.e.different standards but we tend to keep away from Vreds on perfomance motors.Vreds normally go on what we call Chavmobiles.i.e. 1.2l corsa's with big bores/cia with 50hp motors,just my opinion.

They are amazing from what I hear. Great on wet or dry.

Well, I got them mounted and took them out for a drive this afternoon (in the rain). I'm very, very impressed. They're quieter, less harsh and far more grippy than the RS-As. I did realize when I was packing them in the back of my truck to have them mounted that I received 106Y (SUV) tires instead of 103Ys. That just basically means they have a higher load rating and probably slight stiffer sidewall. I don't imagine those are bad things with a car this heavy, but they might weight a little more than the 103Ys.

I can't wait to try these out when it dries up outside.

SUV's have a thicker sidewall ply,i.e,no give,you know,movement.You need movement in a high performance sedan more so than in a small van,(weight/power/etc)a van cannot take a bend/turn at 80-90 mph without it trying to turn 180(where the hell is degrees on the keyboard.lol)dont put suv tyres on a sedan cos when you crash and the insurance company inspect your motor and asks "why do you have the incorrect tyres fitted to your vehicle" great big X on the form where there should have been a (where the hell is the tick icon on a pc)well a TICK/CHECK on the form.Dont say I didnt warn you.KK,lecture over(getting off my stool now).lol

I can see your point but like I said in the UK Vreds are classed as budget tyres and everyone knows that to make money is to sell to the highest bidder and if the euro is stronger/weaker than any other currency blaa blaa,I'm more for safety,grip is what is needed.People will always try and skimp on prices for consumables(tyres,because they wear)but will pay lots for non-necessaty's,its human nature.I'd rather have decent tyres as thats the last thing in contact with the road and your car just before they may have possibly saved your life.Your family will approve,trust me.Nuff sed.I'm outta her before I start a war.lmao

I have not heard any bad reviews on the vreds either. Surprising to hear they are considered cheapos in the european market.
I will say most tires in the 20's or 22's that fit our cars are XL (SUV) tires. Which makes sense since most sport sedans don't weigh over 4000lbs like the LX cars. I know Discount tire recommends XL tires for the charger, 300, and magnums.

I don't think a van is what the high performance SUV tires were designed for. I'm thinking it is more for the Porsche, Lexus, Mercedes, etc, etc SUV's that weigh more than a standard sports sedan and need the extra sidewall strength but still require high performance handling and speed ratings. These SUV's are very capable of cornering as well as most Sports sedans. Coincidently these vehicles weigh and handle about the same as the LX cars.

Most tire mfrs have many styles / ratings. Our UK friend is probably right, but talking about a tyre we'll never see here. Everyone's got GOOD / BETTER / BEST.

Let's get APPLES with APPLES, and leave out the ORANGES.

I got VREDS and they are the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta model.

From my experience so far, this is a very sticky, great handling tire.
