Kinneys is great, but expensive.
I have been using Mid-Cities Muffler for years for both personal and business work.
They are at the intersection of Hurstview and Bedford-Euless Road in Hurst.

thanks for the advice guys.
i posted the question a little late as i was on my way to the shop this morning before i got to read your suggestions.
oh well.
had a local muffler shop do the work
they used 2.25" pipe in place of the resonators. i wanted 3.5 but i dont think it will make that big of a difference.
took the guy an hour and a half to do the work so i didnt say anything. he did it for a hell of price so i just left it at that.
sounds good.
comments on narrower piping? should be fine?

You only used the 2.25" in place of the resonators? What is the rest of the system, 2.5" ??
remember that your system can only flow as good as your smallest bottleneck. That being said, going from 2.5 to 2.25 shouldn't make that big a deal, but I would have stuck with 2.5 personally.

stock is 3.5"
thats what irritated me. it's a lot smaller.
you think this is affecting anything or causing more noise than 3.5" would?

A drop from 3.5 to 2.25 is a huge drop.
I cant say if its causing the drone, but it cant be helping performance.
I think I would be taking it back and making them fix that.

I thought that the exhaust was either 2.25 or 2.5.

Sorry - brain fart.
It is 2.25, you are right.
I have NO idea what I was thinking.
