I think you'll need more than a few grand bro...What ya need.......

Ya need Heads...($2500) Torque converter($700) Another CMR tune(???) Longtube..(1500)....

At least another 5 grand... You got Drag radials and wheels yet...

It adds up real quick...

CplDaugherty
03-11-2008, 01:39 PM
Well a few to me is more than 2...

I've got the DRs (prob will sell mine and go with a shorter set), I'd like to see what I could do with a TC and some heads... I bet I could come pretty close w/o switching to longtubes, but I'm sure eventually I'll need to upgrade to them.

No new ET/MPH records but just a couple more slips under the belt from the E-town event this weekend. I managed to crack the 9.9X mark on the 1000ft for the first time but I am still getting the tune ironed out with the new 6.1 injectors. Mph was down due to the waaaaay fat A/F on the top end (11:2 to 1 in 3rd) but god damn this car loves to 60'!!

I was car 702 at Etown this weekend. The second slip is me and Brklnmag having a post final match up....damn that was a good race only separated by less than a fender.

I only got to make one 1/8 mile pass hitting the botton just before the 2nd gear shift.

75 shot boosted my 1/8 mile MPH to 93 MPH + change.

ET was unremarkable due to soft launch, but that Crane 216 W/thwe 112 LSA sure seems to like the juice.

Too bad I won't get anther track session before I swap cams.

There's no doubt in my mind that I can get into roll cage territory on spray. (as long as my axles hold up)

My problem is not the 6.1 intake. W/my heads the 6.1 intake does not loose any TQ @ 3000 RPM & climbs away from there on up.

The 6.1 intake will not work W/stock 5.7 port runner, I have posted that countless times.

I have tried 110 octane twice & had horrible 60' times both times as have others.

I was pulling 1.8 flat 60' times @ Columbus OH in the heat & humidity on pump gas.

W/pump gas, I am sure my car will be down there in the 12.1s or better @ - DA.

My 12.19 was @ -.500 DA

My cam is a bit on the weak side W/.326" lobe lift & the 112 LSA isn't helping the hole shot..

I'm going for a similar duration grind W/more agressive opening profiles @ a 113 LSA and quite a bit more lift.

It should still be MDS compatable.

I have been frustrated trying to get to a track when the air is good,

I have battled heavy snow the last 2 times & seldom make a snow free trip in the early spring or late fall.

I was not ready @ Atco & I will not run 110 octane again.

I have since learned that I am not the only one to experience poor 60' times W/110.

Hey Dan, I was using Jonz Spacers when I did the test.

I want to test again in the spring with a set that match the port work on my 5.7 Fri heads or maybe some 09 Heads with the revised intake runners.

I lost a consistant .2 with the 6.1 intake and I saw some really weird things.

The car spooled faster ( from feel ) and I had to lower my shift points to 5800 5900 so I woudlnt tap limiter which is odd as I typically shift at 6000/6100 for solid 6400 rpm shifts.

I think you might be surprised what you may gain going back to the 5.7 intake.

Good luck

-R

What is the deal with 09 heads as apposed to what we have now? i thought is was the vvt that made the new motors fly?

-R

I did back to back pulls with & without the 6.1 manifold on the Mopar heads.

@ 3000 RPM the 6.1 manifold made 3# more TQ.

Not enough to say it made more TQ, but it certainly didn't hurt thing any. The TQ curve pulled away steadily as revs built.

My Mopar heads have intake runners 3% larger in section than stock 6.1 w/2.055" intake valves.

Going smaller runners on the manifold would probably be counter productive.

It doesn't surpriz\se me that the 6.1 manifold falls on it's face out of the hole W/stock head port runners.

While the mismatch on Mopar Performance heads is slight, it is horrible on the stock 5.7 port runner.

I think you are comparing appples to oranges here. There is too much differnece in the flow characteristics of the 2 heads.

Well how about a N20 & FI list.
12.99 just to get on it.
Covers 12's-11's-10's you get the pic.
Information like Full Weight or Diet and the rest of the good stuff.
How big the shot is or how many lbs of boost.

Then you could have a 6.1 NA list and a 5.7 NA list. The board would be a lot cleaner cause there are 3 Stickys for everything u wanna know.
Make one thread for request to get on one of the list. Make the stickies so no one can post in them. I think it would look a lot better.

Thanks Chris! Good luck with your 11's quest as well! It's hard as he'll to get there but feels really good once you do. T- 1 month and counting for the tracks to reopen this year.

Yeah I know, it's a goal, and not sure if I'll get there this year but I'm gonna try. Luckily I've been able to learn from guys like you, Chris, Rob, etc...

We all knew you would get it some time, it was just a matter of how soon. Enjoy being on a very elite list. :beerchug:

Magnum...I sold her... Chally is a 6.1L so i wouldn't be able to post in this section since it's for 5.7l's only.
