I didnt know where to post this thread so please move it as needed.

I took my bezel out today so I could install some lights and decide if I wanted to try taking the heater/ac controls out to repair them. I took some photos of the clips to help the next person that has never done this before.

When they talk about removing the tray in front of the ashtray they mean this. I had no idea this piece just slid out. If you grab the edge it is just sitting in place so it comes out easily.

The ashtray is connected by four metal/sliver clips one in each corner. I couldnt get a good photo of them. I pulled it out and then started to pull on the bottom of the console. I had to pull really hard to get it out and I thought for sure I was going to break it.

Here is right side bottom clip.

There are 2 clips on each side as well. It felt like there was a clip in the middle where the hazard light control is but I couldnt see one.

There is also a clip at the top in the middle.

So that makes a total of 7 metal clips.I dont know if I was supposed to use a trim stick to depress the clips or not but I dont look forward to pulling the bezal out again as I am sure you can easily break it.

They're really a lot more durable than they sound when they come loose! They're probably good for a solid 20 pulls before a tab **might** crack. Just make sure you pull straight out, not out and up or out and down, as that would put a lot of extra stress on the clips.

Yeah, they are extremely durable, my bezel has been removed and replaced a good 50-100 times i'd say and no problem at all with the clips breaking.

Well thats good to know. I have the type of luck where I try to do something myself to save a bit of money and end up breaking something that costs way more to repair.

I just bought a 6-cd changer from a guy with a 2006 charger. It fits perfectly in my 2006 magnum, but the cd part won't work. when i try to load it says disc error. does anyone know about this. there is just one plug in behind the radio. do u need the second smaller plug in for a 6 cd changer; or is that plug in for other accessories? any help is appreciated. thanks, from magnumguy

You should put it in the LXWIKI or submit it to the knowledge base or it will just get buried....

Although, that info's already in there in places. For example: http://www.lxforums.com/board/images/misc/paperclip.gif (http://www.lxforums.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=89#) Installing the Mopar iPod interface (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=51472)

Im not sure if these photos warrant a wiki or knowledge base because they only show the bezel clips. Maybe they can be added to another post in there or something?
