Got this FROM the 300C forums!

I have a friend with one of their kits on his '01 Vette and he is a BIG fan! He also has the DynaMaxx headers that I helped him install.
I think this kit will be a winner.

It looks pretty sharp, but I went to their website and there's no mention of it -- yet! However, I notice the one in the picture looks alot like the "King Cobra" CAI that's designed for all GM trucks and SUV's. I hope they come out with something though.

yeah it looks very similar to the "king cobra"....which gives an approx 35hp increase and costs $250 Sounds like a good hp/$ ratio to me. Hopefully they don't jack up the price for the Magnum version. I emailed the company to ask possible release dates and $. I'll post them here as soon as i get a response. They also "guarantee" a .5 to 1 second decrease in 0-60 times with the King Cobra....sounds great

30 to 45 days away according to the folks who build these things and they are OPEN TO A GROUP BUY DIRECT FROM THE MANUFACTURER. Shall we begin taking names.
Price should be in the $250-$300 range list.
From what my buddy with the Corvette tells me, these things flat out WORK.

That one looks like crap and probably sucks in water when it rains.
I checked out their web site and they are AWESOME, true HP Ram air intake, I would love to have a VR-1B or VR-1V type intake, they are great and have flow through for when it rains, just perfect.
I E-mailed them and asked them if they planned on making a Ram air intake similar to the VR-1B or VR1V for the Magnum RT.

This is what they say about the king cobra which looks similar in design about water.
"A water system featuring a DROP away floor to drain any water that may inter the system(up to 2 gallons every 30 seconds) "
30-45 day?........hmmmm...i don't know if i can wait that long.........ahhhhh the agony of waiting.
Damn i was all ready to buy a 360 kit in a couple weeks too....now i think i'll wait the 4-6 weeks. Count me in for a GROUP buy

Volant is the ONLY other true CAI system I know of, I e-mailed them 1 month ago and they said they're working on a kit for the Magnum.
I like the Typhoon kit FROM K&N, but it's under the hood (with heat shield) and looks good.

Yeah the Typhoon looks real good with the polished aluminum tube but for the price they're charging i'd want something that's a true CAI

What about this one?

I'm holding out for a true CAI with an inlet pulling in cooler air FROM behind the grill or some point away FROM the engine compartment. I'm thinking the Volant system will do this.

I know about them too, but is it RAM air intake, or merely cold air intake where the filter is located in the fender well with 3 foot long tubing that takes all day for the air to go to the throttle?
Plus their picture doesn't SHOW much, but it sure as hell isn't RAM, which is what I really want.
I use to have FIPK FROM K&N on my 95 SS, then I swtiched to ram air (I don't remenber the name brand) with AF2 system and the performance gains where great, so I really want Ram air intake.

i emailed that domesticperformance place about their CAI....you're right it's tough to tell much just FROM their picture of it in pieces. I asked where it's drawing air FROM and an intalled picture, plus performance gains which i'm guessing they probably don't have otherwise it'd be listed in bold font on their website. But yeah ram air is a pretty big draw and right now volant and vararam seem to have the only two systems.

Yesss...I want the true RAMAIR type too...Got to get that nice cool air in there...dammit it's still hot as hells' doorknob here in South Florida might be cooler air around the engine compartment then it is outside... But, until we get some of those true ram air units out on the market I may just have to make my own..yeah that's it... lemme see I can run some dryer vent flextube...yup a little duct tape to secure it nicely..oh yeah I can cut the snout off a medium size funnel and bailing wire the hose to the Funnel "Ram Air Collector" inlet..route that puppy down there by the front air dam paint it stealth black and then I'm gonna......OUCH#!***...What's that Honey???...No sweetie I wouldn't really do that to our beautiful new Magnum.....Is she gone??? now lemmee see..couple that with those Cherry bomb glasspacks I can stick on and then.....yeah... that's it!!.......and then......

Relax Nick, it's in the 60's tonight (finally!). Sounds like your ram air will work great! You might want to top it off with some speed holes in the hood though. You know, for a better venturi air flow system to keep the engine cool when it's producing all that wicked badass power!
