without changing parts, what can i do to improve my 60' time? with perfect traction, i get 1.90 to 1.92 every time. i always leave at idle and mash the pedal. i tried to brake torque it once, but i pushed the car past the staging lights. i just can't hold it back with a stock converter.
what is the best 60' time for a 5.7 magnum with a stock converter? mine is 1.90 with and without drag radials. drag radials have not help my 60' time at all.
With the stock converter I think brake torqueing to around 1500 works out pretty good.
I think 1.90 is pretty good for a stock converter, especially if it is consistant

1.7's are not very likely with a stock converter. The best I was able to manage with the DR's was low 1.8's. The Pro Torque dropped 60' by aprox .1 on average.

I have gotten 1.8x with street tires and a stock converter. I bought a 2800 stall but...

If you stall the stock converter to high it will actually hurt you 60 ft times

I've not ever gotten below 2.0x for 60' times - how the heck?

Brake torquing to 1500 rpm worked well for me, consistent 2.0 60's on my last track outing and snatched a 1.9X once, only been to the track 2 times with this car so far. The 1.9 60' was with no wheel spin at all and babying it out of the hole for the first 10-15' all the 2.0's were with light wheel spin (never got a 1/4 mile slip for the 1.9 60' just a 1/8 mile as it was brackets later that night done on 1/8 mile times, but the numbers showed better across the board, I thought babying it might hurt my trap speeds but it didn't, makes me wonder what the pcm is doing with wheel spin?).
65standard, let me know if you wanna hit up 41 next spring, I go out your way quite often.

and what was your launch technique on that? remember, i have a 4522lbs magnum 5.7. (even heavier now with the 20" boyds i am racing with)
I load it up to 2k and gently increase at launch for about 1/2 second until I am sure momentum will keep the tires from spinning, and then I put the hammer down.

me too. I was at the track today and couldn't pull better than a 2.11 with the SRT8 Eagle F1 supercar tires (255 wide). Now, it was 48 degrees, but still. Even if it was 80 degrees outside, I still probably wouldn't have broken below 2.00... If you're getting a 1.9x with a stock set up and the R/T 235 or 245 tires... shut up and be happy LOL! Remember, every 0.1s in your 60' time makes a difference of 0.2s in the 1/4 mile. Almost an exact science...

I can't break 2 for the life of me. Mostly due to traction. I might need to strap on some DRs just one time.
