Ever since I set the record for fastest 5.7 last year at the Heavyweight Shootout in Atlanta, 12.82@110 (which went largely ignored since it was with a 100 shot of nitrous), I set out to equal or better that mark at this year's shootout without the nitrous. I almost hit it right on the mark, running a couple of 12.8's, a 12.9, and a few 13 flats. I'm convinced the difference that got me over the hump was the B&G Predator tune. This was the final piece of the puzzle that opened up all of the mods to do what they should have been doing all along.

Best run (which was my last run, and I think I could've gotten in the 12.7's if I went again).

R/T - .092
60' - 1.910
330' - 5.396
1/8 - 8.259
MPH - 85.78
1000 - 10.746
1/4 - 12.841
MPH - 107.62

DA was just over 2,000 ft, so corrected time would be 12.51 @ 110.

:)

very cool! Nice runs and getting typical of head/cams 5.7's now. Did you take the spray off altogether?

Yep - the spray is completely gone. HemiDon is running it now.....

Way to go, Nick! Glad to see you got the tune right. I see a drop in your ET's with some more track time with the new setup. :thumbs_u:

Actually, my next step will probably be to step up to a 2800 stall converter. My 60' times are still not where they should be, which leaves plenty of room for improvement.

Awesome Nick!!! Has Dave dialed in your tune some more? Freakin sweet!!!!

65standard, i'm sure i speakfor Nick. Yes!!!! it's much better than with nitrous. But, lets not forget with nitrous it feels just as exilerating. The only down side, is that when you are driving around town an NA feels so much better, since the power is at the tip of a pedal all the time.

Way to go Nick thats a hell of a good run especially considering the DA you ran it in

Yep - Nitrous is fun, but in the end, having that rush available at any time is best. It's just amazing how hard the car is pulling. Can't wait till the temps dip into the 50's :)

Rander, this is the same tune that Dave had sent me. I just dialed in the AFR using my new Zeitronix wideband (excellent piece of hardware, by the way). I've got it running mid 12's through the entire powerband, and it's running harder than ever. I swapped from the stock TCM to the Mopar Performance TCM for my last 3 runs. When I reset the tune for it, my 1st run was a 13.1, so I thought it was a mistake to swap. But then I figured the PCM needed a little learning time since I just reset it. My next two runs were a 12.87, and a 12.84. The TCM shifting felt better each time, and I think I could've kept dropping that time if I made more runs - although it was also getting hotter out.....

I left before seeing who won the brackets. The PT Cruiser was knocking a lot of guys out - but he didn't meet the rules. Yes, he somehow made the 4,000 lb. weight requirement - but it was front wheel drive! The rules stated all cars had to be 4k lbs and rear wheel drive.....
