When I called DC customer service on Monday they told me that my Magnum had shipped on Saturday but they did not have a rail car # to track it by. When I called again on Tuesday all they could tell me is that it had been sent via truck with Allied and they gave me a contact # for Allied.
So I called the # and told them that I was trying to track a vehicle that Daimler Chrysler had shipped through them. They asked for the last 8 of my VIN and then told me that it had been shipped out of their Buffalo facility. I don't know if all US bound Brampton vehicles are sent through Buffalo when trucked, but it seems likely.
I called the Buffalo facility and repeated the same question and was asked for the last 8 again. She confirmed that they had received the vehicle (meaning it cleared customs) and was scheduled to be loaded on a truck and shipped directly to my dealer. She offered to "hot tag" the vehicle, which apparently means they give it higher priority in loading it and in deliverying it.
I called again today (Thursday) and got confirmation that it was loaded on Tuesday and the truck was dispatched (left) on Wednesday morning. It should be at my dealer today.
So, if you're trying to track your vehicle's shipping status, you need to start with DC customer support to find out if it was sent by rail or truck. If sent by truck (and assuming via Allied), I would recommend calling the Buffalo facility first, press "1" at the first menu and ask the person if they can give you the status of your vehicle. If they confirm that they have it, might as well ask them if they can "hot tag" it.
But please...be kind to the Allied folks. The person you are reaching is not in a bank of customer support operators. These people are actually working at scheduling and shipping your vehicle so if you harass them or call them frequently, they're gonna stop helping us.
That being said, here is the Buffalo #: 716-675-3999
Sorry, I didn't keep the main # for Allied, but if you call DC Customer Service they can look it up for you. As and FYI, I called DC today and they told me my vehicle was in "KZL" meaning "Released - not shipped". I called Allied and they told me it's on a truck enroute to my dealer, expect it today. So I guess when it gets shipped by truck, DC doesn't get any info on it being shipped. So if your vehicle is in KZL and you're in the Northeast US, might be worth giving Allied a call.
Hope this helps!
