I have been asked on my how-to on making the mesh grill..here it is:
http://www.300cforumz.com/images/icons/icon1.gif How to Make a Pipsmom Grill!!!
Here is the how to on how I did the mesh:
Purchased metal mesh from Lowes, cost around 8 dollars, it came flat, size 2x8...I have lots left!
First cut mesh bigger than the grill, you trim later.
I sprayed the mesh with clearcoat, 3 coats on both sides as a safety precaution..I was afraid it might rust..no problems as of yet!
Next step is to cut stainless steel wire in 4 to 5 inch lengths and bend them into a u-shape. Take your u-shaped pieces and epoxy the u part to the grill using plastic epoxy. I taped them into place with scotch tape. When epoxy is dry remove scotch tape. It will look like this:

Wear gloves for this next step:
Make sure all your wires are going straight up, this makes putting the mesh on easier. Start with the middle wires. Once you have all the wires through it will look like this:

Press down firmly in the center of the grill and hand tighten the two ends of your u-shape wire, then using pliers do a couple more turns to snug it up. Should look like this, hand tightened:

Then pliers to tighten the turn, grip the top of the wire and turn, they will look like this:

Now just take the wire cutters in above picture and trim your mesh approximately 3/4 inches to fold over the edges of the grill, where there are clips and places for the screws in the back trim around those as close as you can leaving enough to bend over the edge between the clips. Wear gloves and bend tightly. It will look like this after it is bent:

Bend excess turned wires down flat so you can't see them from the front side of the grill, your finished grill will look like this:
