A buddy of mine is looking at buying a Charger SRT-8 used from a local BMW dealership. I just test drove the car. Here are the stats:
2006, in service date of March 06 (1/2 the warranty left)
16k miles
NO slotted rotors
Car has the sunroof rattle
There is no 1-2 shift lag
Car has the cracked steering wheel cover (volume control side).
Production date was the end of 05 (early production)
The rear fascia around the exaust is loose
Car has options I, II and III
No curb rash on the wheels
Tread looks good on the tires
Non-smoker
No wear on the seats, looks clean inside
Dealer said he bought the car at an auction

Dealer wants 32k for it. I think that's pretty salty. What do you guys think?

$32,000 seems high for that the way you described it

Agreed. I think 28ish is more reasonable. It's clean, but it has a few flaws. I don't think owner number 1 was an LX enthusiast/psycho like we are! :)

I paid less OTD for mine new with the MoCo B2B warranty 6yr/70k miles. Less options but still....

$28k is more like it.... OTD and I'd press to include a warranty.

I'd say around $29,000-$30,000.
The steering wheel switches (which the cracked cover is part of) is warranty.
TSB 23-002-06 covers the sunroof rattle- warranty
You can't have the brake rotors replaced under warranty, their only covered 12 months or 12,000 miles.
If you're talking about the black plastic difuser trim on the bottom of the fascia, that's warranty.
Sounds like a good car to me from what you described. Make sure you check the coolant tank for white mud contamination. This is a known issue on 6.1L's. It is fixable under warranty, a Service Action now. What color is the car???

My thought is check the warranty first b4 buying because some factory warranties do not cover cars form auctions, salvages, or estate sales.

I honestly not heard of that in MA., other than if it is salvage titled.
