Long story short,
my cooler thermostat has caused a code light, I was told by "PowerWagon896 (http://www.lxforums.com/board/member.php?u=8691)";
If you do get a TSTAT CEL pull fuse #11 for 15 seconds & replace it.

However he never mentioned if it was the FRONT or the REAR.
SO I went out and pulled the 11 in the front, and the car was running
and then it died. I put the fuse back in.

Now, the car WON'T START.
It acts like it is a disabled key or something, the RED ALARM light is on.
To make matters worse I can't find my damned spare key.

I gotta get the car started, and it is not turning over.
The ignition comes on but NO STARTER!!!
I checked all the fuses and none of them seem to be blown.
I need help, fast!!!!

You pulled the right fuse. It is in the front. I have never heard your situation happen before though.

The fuse #11 he is referring to is the one under the hood, but your not supposed to pull it with the car running. It disconnects the power to the computer and resets the adaptive memory.

Try disconnecting the negative battery cable for 60 seconds and then hook the battery backup and see if the car restarts.

Hold the key.....the starter may be delayed......I have seen that happen.....it has to relearn too.

Is the fuse in the right slot?
you may have put it in the wrong slot.

I have disconnected both the positive and negative cables and I will let it sit for a while...

Im pretty sure everything is in the right spot.
Is there an online reference?
The dealers are of NO HELP, the only suggestion they have is to tow it in!!!

Fuse 11 under the hood is correct but as stated earlier never pull the fuse with engine running.

I had the same code about a week ago & pulled fuse 11 for about 10 seconds, started the car right up, engine light & code was all gone. Car running perfect again. Good luck getting it started.

when you pulled the fuse did it blow?

VIDEOBOB

None of the fuses are blown, I used a Fluke to test them.
I took the battery out for an hour, and nothing.
The starter won't start.
I need some serious help.
I need to know what to check, what to try?

anyone with a starscan near him? He may need the PCM reflashed as pulling the fuse with the engine running may have corupted the program... Bob, do a search for $0.25 fan mod, there are alot of pics of the fuse panel in those threads.

Good luck!

According to the manual, Page 308, the number 11 fuse is "Auto Shutdown/Powertrain Control Module (PCM)"
it's the auto-shutdown part that I am noticing.
How do I UN-SHUT it down?

The same happened to another member and he just put it back in the wrong spot. Double check the picture ^^^. always pull the fuse with the car off. I always notice a spark when I replace mine so I hope you didnt cause any damage.

I stand before you now in shame as a humbled dumbass....
yup, I had put the fuse back in the wrong spot.... looking at some photos
I noticed the placement of the yellow fuse and compared images and moved
it down one, it sparked with I plugged it in and and I heard relays begin
to click....I turned the key to the wonderful sound of a growling HEMI.
I spent the last 3 hours messing around, checking fuses, connections
and disconnecting the battery...all for nothing.

Lesson learned?
ALWAYS TAKE A DIGITAL PHOTO OF YOUR WORK AREA BEFORE YOU BEGIN.

Thanks everyone,
now please kill this thread to save me further embarrassment!!!

Happy to have been able to help,
and there is no shame in this. Panic will often make us overlook the obvious. The stress of beliving you had perhaps just cost yourself a ton of cash from the mod fund is enough to cause any of us to overlook something like that. That is why I took the photos in the first place to have a back up.

Glad to hear it VB. Dont worry ...just like the other thread you always have to watch where you stick your fuse.

Dare I attempt this again,
what is the proper procedure for pulling this fuse and resetting the codes?

Again, this is the #11 fuse up front?

Yes, and if your not sure which one it is....look at the underside of the fuse box cover, it has a map, and look where the relays are, and then count the fuses in or out.....make a memory in head, and just keep the fuse like a cm or so away from the hole, that way you dont panic.

Well, shut the motor off first :-)

Next, use a pair of tweezers or something similar to pull the fuse out. I have a set from Rite Aid and I use two hands to make sure I don't drop it into the engine cavity or something stupid like that. You only need to pull it for 30 seconds. You can do it for more if you like but I have always cleared CEL's with a minute's disconnection, tops.

When you start the car, your first try will have a short delay, like Erik said. Just hold the key over and it will start after a split second.

Make sure you have plenty of spare fuses. I got two of everything from a dealer parts shop a couple years back for a couple bucks.

Lastly... Look at the inside of the fuse box lid. It has a numbered diagram that gives you all of the fuse numbers and will tell you which one #11 is.
