I don't know if I'm tripping but the daytona rims are black on the inner part of the rim, right? While the regular R/T's are all chrome. How can I get mine to look like the daytona rims? Would Powdercoat work? Is this costly?

Where your stock R/T rims are painted Silver the Daytona wheels are Matte Black.

Do you think getting then powdercoated would get them to look like that? Or should I just buy a new set? I can't seem to find where to buy them. Any suggestions?

Powdercoat would actually probably be better than the stuff DCX used on the Daytona rims. If you would rather purchase the Daytona rims check out www.moparsupercenter.com (supporting vendor)

I just picked up a set for my Magnum from another forum member. I liked them because of the black accents. I had seen them on a black Daytona and loved how they looked on the black car. I'm no expert but I think the powdercoating would be darker than the stock Daytonas. However, If you shop around (ebay or our forum) you can find good deals. I got a good deal in mine (with Michelins included). Look above at my pic.:thumbs_u:

I got mine from a local tire shop near a Dodge dealership. They were brand new take-offs and were only $600 with Michelins.

There is no such thing as a black Daytona from the factory. Sounds like another poser. :)

I looked at the moparsupercenter site but I couldn't really tell if those were the ones. And they come in different options but I'm not really sure which ones they are. So powdercoating would be too dark? Is that expensive? I think bying a whole new set would be a little expensive so I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to do this.

My bad. It was a black Charger that had Daytona rims. And it looked GOOOD! Almost as GOOOD as my black Magnum!

Charger with the Road and Track package had the "Daytona" wheels. So, might not be a "Poser", but a "sleeper".
I have the Daytona/Road and Track wheels, and I noticed they are different from my stock RT wheels. On the stock silver RT wheels, they have a litte RAISED square box thing, that has wheel rating symbol on it. The Daytona/Black wheels have the symbol also, but it is not raised, and is nicer looking. Almost not visible.

Powdercoating can be expensive as well and it may end up being about the same price as getting used ones from someone. Plus, I think you will be without your wheels for a few days. I have thought about painting the pockets of mine with a high-heat resistant paint. Will this work?

But could have been a 06 black RT w/R&T which has all the same as a Daytona excpet for the Daytona colours, rear and chin spoiler, the body graphics and the numbered badge.

yeah, your probably better off buying them used from somebody
if you were in Canada, i'm going to sell mine next summer to try and upgrade to fancy rims, i'm sure you can find someone in your area doing the same (hell if you put a note on someones daytona i'm sure you could tempt someone into selling)
sorry to semi hijack, but ya'll think 600-800CDN with stock tires would be a fair selling price?

The 07 Daytona rims are chrome clad with natural aluminum on the inside.
If you're interested, I have a set for sale for $600 plus shipping.

Good discussion, I went back and forth on black stock wheels, I just dropped my stock RT wheels at the powdercoater on Friday, he will be doing semi-black and leaving the outer ring stock finish. complete job- $200. Of course my car is on jack stands until I get the wheels back, my wife will drive me to work this week. I looked around for used wheels, most sets around $400, but in the end I was able to swing sharing a car, so I went this route. It did give me an opportunity to clean the wheels wells and paint my calipers. Good luck.
