Base on this article the author estimates the 300C SRT-8 as $48,000 - $52,000. However, that is Canadian dollars! So, that would be $37,275 - $40,382 US Dollars. That would be awesome! :D

I can't imagine it being any lower than $40k. Probably $40k-$46k. Under 40 is too close to the 300c. And this is limited production.

I agree with Flux.....under 40K and everyone will buy that instead of the 300C. The only advantage the C has that the SRT-8 won't have is the MDS, and I doubt that will keep buyers away FROM the SRT-8.

With such a limited production I wonder how much the actual cost will be.

I doubt they are going to be limited production, if someone orders one they will build it, will only be limited in the sence that not as many will ORDER then as the other models, though even that's not certain considering the percentage of hemi's put in 300's vs the 2.7/3.5, anything over 40k and they are pushing it imo, 38-40k sound reasonable.

my guess is a fully loaded SRT-8 is approx $10k above the loaded 300C
October '04 Motor Trend est $49,000 USD.

Oct '04 Motor Trend is way off. The other numbers on here are much closer.

Guys,
I live in Canada and I can tell you should not simply take Canadian prices and make a simple conversion in US dollar to get an idea of the price in US. It does not work that way. Usually, Canadians pay their cars less than Americans, even after conversion. For example, there is easily more than 1000$ dollars of difference between the Magnum RT in the US and in Canada (i.e. the Americans pay 1000$ more and plus for the car).
A couple of years ago, the Toyota Sequoia, that huge SUV with a V8 was selling here for 50K CAN and was selling in the US for...50K US. At the time, Toyota asked every Canadian buyer to sign a legal agreement that they would not sell the SUV on the other side of the border for a quick profit...
The higher the value of the car, the higher the difference. The Motor Trend figure of 49K US might be closer to reality than 40K US.

It will be about $42K, so I'm told.

Again, I'll say these numbers are way too high. It's encouraging to think so many of you think the car should be worth that much though. 8)

Indeed :D I just think such a powerful car (I mean, it's over 400 HP, that's a lot) shouldn't be available to that many people. It would reduce its appeal and exclusive status if it's too affordable.

Way more than I can afford, but it remains a great bargain.
That is one heck of a family sedan! :)

I don't think there's anyway this thing will cost the same price as a loaded C. I'm thinking atleast $42,000 base, $50,000 loaded.

Yeah? What are you trying to say? Like I said, $42,000 base (okay so I was $2,000 off.) $50,000 loaded. Depending on which options that are in the C are standard on the SRT8.

I am trying to say you are off the mark. I give you a link stating the base is $39k and you still keep responding $42 and $50k loaded. Destination Charge of $625 is included in the $39,995 price. Adding DVD Nav $1,895, Sirius $195, UConnect $275 and perhaps Sunroof $950 will not take the SRT-8 to $50k. Did you read the thread I sent you? It was not a guess. You need more proof - this posted on www.thecarconnection this morning - It's official:
Chrysler Prices 300C SRT-8 FROM $39,995
The fastest four-door FROM the Chrysler GROUP will cost $39,995 when it goes on sale in the spring, the company announced this week. The 300C SRT-8 will be powered by the new 425-hp, 6.1-liter HEMI V-8 announced late last year by the American division of DaimlerChrysler. Chrysler is promising some hot performance FROM the bahn-burning four door: a 0-60 mph run in the low 5-second range is in the offing, as is a quarter-mile time of less than 14 seconds. Upgrades for the performance edition of the sedan include bigger anti-roll bars, revised springs and shocks, Brembo four-piston brakes at all four wheels, and and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels shod with Goodyear F1 tires. Leather trim, a six-CD changer, and steering wheel controls are also included in the base price.
