Today was like any other day in Marathon, Hot as hell and busy washing cars as usual. Then out of nowhere a black 300srt comes pulling up. This nice couple hops out and says hey we know you! I think they look framiliar but maybe not. It turns out to be Junior & EllacSRT from this forum. A couple of weeks back we talked back and forth about how far it was to get to the keys from the Shindig. We talked about them stopping by on the way through but never had a time set up. I told them it was a small town and I was easy to find but I didnt think it was going to be that easy. I would like to thank them for lunch and a nice meet and greet with a distant member. I have met some really good people through this site. Thank you, Thank you very much. Krusty

If it wasnt for the custom paint they would have never stopped. You guys have a safe trip back to Ariaona. Hope the
Shindig was good for all who made it. Ill try to make it next time.:racing:

That was a great story. It looks you people had a great time. I've always wanted to get down to The Keys myself, but it seems like I'm on the other side of the world for you.

^^^ Steady now, steady...

Well, like Mike said (Krusty, that is), we were cruising along Hwy 1 through Marathon, and I was kinda tired-eyed from all the miles, and I hear Anitta yelp and shoot off the road... I look up and there's this unmistakable Magnum sitting there... Krusty! Shark fins, or saw teeth, or waves? Whatever they are, they're his alone, so after we jumped out and he figured out who these two crazy people were, blubbering about "Junior" and "Ella" and "Forums"... well he gave us a quick tour of his rig (and Mike, if you haven't already, you've gotta post a thread on your setup). This thing is killer! Mobile detail shop, complete with pressured water hose, 110v power for a vacuum, etc... killer. I didn't snap any pics, but get 'em up there, Krusty!

So Mike took us to a good local spot for lunch and we snapped a couple more pics by the palms... then back to his house to get a map and see the place. Mike lives in a beautiful little place right on the water, and while we were there, his "long haired hippie friend" () Christian stopped by and went out Lobstering. The season just opened that day IIRC...

Mike showed us his collection of all sizes of Magnums, from Hotwheels-sized ones to big 1:32 or so (I'm not sure)... hundreds of 'em. Great! Also found out that Mike's a fellow Lego dude... saw a cool lighthouse he built, and it's out there still, made it through the hurricane, he said... heard about a big setup he did for one of the local bars, too, of Miami Beach (more on that in a minute).

So then we looked at maps for a minute, and with some fresh maps and advice from Krusty on the Keys, we headed on South. We made it to Key West, did that for a while, turned around and headed back up the highway. We were almost through Marathon when we thought it would be a shame not to see the Lego boulevard Krusty told us about, and so after a quick call, we were back at Mike's place and off to the Hurricane Bar...

OK, so I couldn't help myself from taking heaps of pictures of this thing! Absolutely enthralling to look at it - so much going on in there. It's probably 20 feet long, and it's the main drag in Miami Beach... Mike can tell you more, but here's some pictures:

Here's the Link to More Photos (http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o73/itllgrowback/ShindigTrip/KrustyLegos/) of this craziness... I love it! Getting shown all the little scenes going on, and the stories behind them was a real treat...

So as it turned out, there was severe weather blowing through the Keys that afternoon, mostly in Key Largo, but that's where we were headed. So Mike and Christian suggested we lay low for an hour or so, and let it blow over, and that's what we did... sipping on tea and eating fried cheesecake and swapping stories at the Hurricane Bar...

Once the weather passed, we headed back to Mike's for a minute and took this shot:

Really glad we got to meet you Mike! Wouldn't have been the same trip without it, man. Not a'tall...

Here's (http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=77143) a link to the rest of our trip!

I would love to put Magnums, Chargers and 300s in my display but I cant find the scale I'm looking for. The 1/24 is to large and the 1/43 is to small. If any one knows where to get a 1/34 ish scale lx platform car let me know. Im allways looking to buy another car for the collection. :modding:
