Anyoneelse exerience the rear end shutter on their car? I was backing out of my driveway and felt this quick shutter that lasted about a second. If you have, what was the fix or is this even a problem?

This happened to me when I was traveling to Florida. Had to do a quick turn around and did not stop completely before I put it in drive and it shuttered pretty good. It has not happened since. The trans seems not to be very forgiving when in a hurry.

I was leaving for work last night and was in a bit of a rush. Hope you are right!

Is that in the manual that came with the vehicle? If it is I guess I need to look at it a little closer.

That sound is actually the rear differential. What happen is when using a lower gear differential like a 2.90 one there is less slack in the drive train. So if you are moving just a little bit and shift your gears the axle will be going in the other way and since there is less slack you will hear a noise do to the force of the drive train at the point and the less slack in the drive train. The solution to help preserve the life of the differential is if you have to do these quick stops and reverses dont yank it INTO drive. The key is to go FROM Reverse to Neutral for one second, then drive. see if you dont know a difference!
Another good way to think of a differential is any window crank windows for your home. Some older models have a little slack in them. Meaning that when you go to crank the window open it will not move right away due to slack in the gears.
Any how next time your out try my suggestion and you will see a difference. I my self have tested it in my magnum and notice the difference.

My Guess..When you are backing out of a drivrway (or pulling in)and at an angle and you are on the bake it is fairly common for a tire to almost lose contact with the ground which at times will activate the ABS.momentarily.

Every morning these days when I start my car up for the first time and put it in reverse - it lurches around and the idle acts wacky. Put your car in reverese and keep your foot on the brake for a minute. See if that happens. Only at first start up. I am told there is no fix.
