Hey, Cpl, going local here. Where were you exactly at? I have the same situation alot at the corner of 123 (Ox Road) and Burke Centre Pkwy. It's 2 lanes going downhill with a left turn and the right lane only gets to turn right on red at the bottom of the hill onto FFX Pkwy. It's fun when I see these bozos on my left do the same thing at the light. Halfway through the intersection to get ahead of me. Never has happened, though! :thumbs_u:

This was on Gallows heading north right next to the Dunn Loring Metro Station. I was turning right a few blocks up on to Idylwood. I'm working in McLean now, it's a helluva drive from Manassas Park.

Good kill, sucks that he ended up in front anyhow... hate it when the dude in front doesn't get with the program on those lane robbers.

Every morning when I head home from work I have to go over a bridge with only one lane each direction but fed by two lanes (one is supposed to take a road next to the bridge). The bridge is access to the freeway so there is always a huge line of cars to get on and always people trying to avoid waiting thier turn and jumping the line from that right lane. I LOVE being in the pole position because I won't allow the lane robbers, but of course I am usually the guy 3 cars back when the light turns and they just beat whoever is up there.

On the way to work this morning I come up to a light... 3 lanes but the right one is a turn only for the next 2 blocks before it merges into 2 lanes. A guy in a 350Z pulls up next to me (I'm in the middle lane) and doesn't turn. So I know he's gonna try to get the jump on me instead of waiting in line like the rest of us. He keeps inching out and is all the way in the intersection so he's already at my front bumper before the light changes. I reach over and turn off ESP, but I know my car is gonna be a dog because I've been driving in traffic all week and haven't had a chance to flog her in a while (stupid adaptive learning system).

I brake stall to about 1000rpm and punch it at the light. A little bit of wheel spin and I've already eaten up half his advantage and I'm still pulling. I get almost even and it's time for him to shift... he's not too smooth so I put him to my back door. Traffic is coming up at a stop so I slow down, but not enough to let him over, unfortunately the Z3 in front of me didn't pay attention that traffic was moving and the 350Z slips around both of us and in front of the Z3. Damn. Oh well, at least I got a kill :D

Yeah those Z's are not straight-line cars, and their owners don't know it, which makes for some wide eyes when a sedan or station wagon smokes them. I was 3-for-3 when I quit doing that stuff thanks to one run-in too many with the po-po.
