A simple question here, but I just don't know - what are my tire size options with stock '05 RT rims? Can I go any wider then 18" I've seen the tire calculators, but still not sure.
Thanks!

I went to a 255/60 on a 2006 R/T rim. It will look strange at first. Almost a trucky look, but the ride is excellent. Did the BFG KDWS's.

WOW. Isn't that almost an inch and a half taller than stock?

Oops, Oops, sorry meant a 255/55. Just went and looked to make sure. It does'nt clear the upper arm nut by much, but no rubbing.

BP-
I went with the Toyo Proxes S/T 255-50-18 on the stock r/t rim...I have over 50K miles on them and they still look great. A little lower profile than the 255-55's.

The 18" is the height, not the width.
Biggest tire you can use is the 255x55x18

The 16 is the rim diameter.
Thee 50.55.60.or 70, is they sidewall height compared to the trad width.
So a 255 55 18 is about the same size or a little larger than a 225 60 18.
So far I've decided to stay with the 18 rims to avoid going to the lower profile needed on a 20 or 22" rim.
Granted, the more wheel, less side wall looks great.
I think the higher sidewall on the 60 series rides better.
I may chrome my stock polished rims. You can also paint all but the spokes and rim ring, which looks great on darker cars.
