Looking for some thoughts from those that track their car, or at least have a technical mind about handling.

The Specs for the Hotchkis are...
Front - 1 3/8" (35mm)
Rear - 3/4" (19mm)

The Specs for the ST are...
Front - 1 1/4" (32mm)
Rear - 7/8" (22mm)

The Specs for the Stock are...
Front - 30mm
Rear - 15mm

(First let me say, I am NOT considering the Eibachs, they are only 1mm thicker in the rear and SAME in the front? - waste of money.)(correct me if I'm wrong)

As any one can see, the ST setup is larger in the back (than Hotchkis), by quite a bit, and the Hotchkis is larger in the front (than the ST). We all know, the larger the rear bar, the more oversteer, and of course, the larger the front, the more understeer.

By looking at these numbers, I'm going to take a guess, and say that the Hotchkis does not affect the "BALANCE" of the car, just the roll stiffness. But the ST WILL affect the "BALANCE" of the car, giving it a slight more tail happy nature. Are those accurate statements based on your experiences?

Let me also say, I believe these cars, like pretty much all stock cars, are set from the factory to be understeerers.

SO, let's hear your thoughts. It SEEMS that the ST would be more to my liking.

well...I have the ST's and I think they are awesome...the difference in size for the front is because the Hotch's are hollow inside and the ST are solid....I don't think you will go wrong with either honestly.

for the rears since the ST are bigger I would think they would be better....as for balance....your tires will play tremendously in the under/over steer....so get which ones fit budget and looks....some don't like the green...I am fine with it

Wow, I REALY hope you're right, Eibach didn't seem to me to be a company that would sell a worthless item.

If that's the case, I guess I need to edit my original post...

I did decide to go with the ST.

Here is my thread on my install, it has some good info on the rear cradle alignment.

I couldn’t be happier! The bars have made an amazing difference to the nature of the car. One of the nicest things about them is just doing routine driving, and especially going around an off camber corner, like from one street to another. No more lean.

One thing I wanted to point out is this. I did drive the car with just the new rear bar added, and I did NOT like the way it felt. The front seemed even more sloppy than stock, and had a very strange feel. If any one is considering just a rear bar, think again. This might be fine if all you want to do is go drifting, but for everyday driving, the car felt better stock.

The Hotchkis bars come w/ a grease zerk on the rear bushing shackle, which it sounds like the ST's don't? I like the way the Hotchkis bars handle, I've never driven the ST, so I can't comment on the differences in how they make the car respond to steering input.

Congrats on the install and great write up....about the ST's...I have had the pleasure of torturing them over the past couple months and can honestly say that they are awesome......good choice :beerchug::mrgreen:
