Put the 20s on today. They are Zenetti Five wheels, 20x8.5 + 20 offset and Falken 245/40 tires. Hypersilver Finish, big chrome isn't our thing.

What is the diameter of that setup compared to stock?

Your' telling me!!! Eibachs are about 2 months out, according to the rep at eibach I called today. 1.6" front and rear.
tire size: stock is 28", these are 27.7", so 728 revs/mile as opposed to 720 for the stock tires. 255/40 woud have been a perfect match, but noone makes them.

Yup, that is all it needs. DROP it about 1 to 1.5 inches. Rumor has it that Eibach is working on a lowering kit.
Those really look good. Lowering by 1.5" will really set that off well. Is that a base or a 3.5? How bad does it hurt the performance and what is the weight of the wheel/tire?

its the 3.5
I haven't really driven it much, just home FROM the tire shop, but there wasn't a lot of difference. It definitely handles better though.

Juat an FYI....stock is 28.6...not 28. So 255/40's are not perfect...but 245/45's are about as damn close as you'll get...too bad no one makes them.

stock on the sxt is 215/65-17 though and they are 28", we didn't fork out for the R/T, which has the larger tires.

yes stock is 28.6......so i was thinking of 275/40R20. Wider tire, while maintaining overall height. I believe that is what bigwheels.net is suggesting for their packages on the R/T.

i'm curious but where do people getting the info that the stock tires have an OD of 28.6"?
now I know if you calculate out the tire size 225/60-18 it comes out to 28.63", but actual tire specs don't always follow that number.
for example for the tire size 255/55-18 the calculated size is 29.04", now BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 255/55-18 are specs out at 29" on tirerack, and the BFGoodrich site says the same, the continental 4x4 sportcontact 255/55-18 however are speced out at 26.8" by tire rack and continental, both the same size tire but much different OD's, for the stock continental tires tirerack has the spec on them at 28", continental's site still doesn't have them yet, but since tire OD's don't always match the calculated size and tirerack does seem to get the manumfactures specs i'm just wondering why people think the 28" speced size tirerack has is wrong?

I have been using http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html for a long time and I believe that it has a very accurate tire size calculator.

Tire calculations are like this:
225/60r18
225 * 0.60 = 135mm
135 * 0.0393700787 = 5.31496inches
5.31496 * 2 (upper and lower tire rubber) = 10.62992
10.62992 + 18 (wheel size) = 28.62992 inches
You can apply the same formula for the other sizes.

yeah, I know what the calculations are, but the problem is actual tire specs don't follow that 100% and i've seen over a 1" different between that calculation and the manufacturer's actual spec for the tire, it seems everyone is just assuming the stock tires follow those specs, but so far the only actual info i've seen on them (tirerack) says they don't.

www.1010tires.com, click on "Tech" then click on "Tire Size Calculater" it allows you to input factory tire size and what you want to try and compare them side by side on overall diameter, treadwidth, sidewall height, Rev per mile, speedometer differences, etc
PS. Hammerfoot, you keep begging everyone for a flame job, we gave you one and you never responded with your thoughts on it
