we know this is soooo last minute.....
but here it is:

we decided this past weekend that we were going to do one this very weekend...
in fact this Sunday the 27th...
you know get everyone together in So. Cal. that does not have travel plans or family events already planned...
then I realized there is a bigger motorsports event this coming Sunday...
(even if Tony George has f'ed it up)...
it'll feature an unser and an andretti as well...
(almost like the old days)

tonight though I realized one thing...
and I literally just thought of this one...
we could TIVO the INDY 500 and watch it at my house while we barbeque late in the afternoon say between 3-6pm?
did I just say that out loud?

alright here is the deal...
meet in Irvine at 8am leave at 8:30am...
cruise to Oceanside and meet the SD crew probably around 9:30-9:45am...
(WE ALSO NEED A MEET SPOT on the coast in Oceanside - oh BATMAN! - you are being requested - or anyone else for that matter with a good meet idea right at the first exit coming off of the 5 south -maybe even meet in one of the parking lots down by the oceanside harbor)
then roll down the coast...
have lunch in del mar/carmel valley at Tio Leo's right off of the 5 freeway & 56 probably around noon...
and continue to roll south along the coast...
probably to Pacific Beach and then turn around...
head up the 5 to the 56 and then to casa de butler...
where there is a huge arse grill that can hold up to 10 ol' 96's...
no problem...
so burgers, chicken, hot dogs, or whatever you want to bring and have me cook is no problem...
mmm wait...
no tofu on my grill...

so who is up for this?
otherwise we all stay silent and do our own thing this weekend and go out at look at our cars and all sigh...

This is a cruise ONLY!!!
no smoking tires, reckless driving or "exhibitions of speed"...
the cops will be out in full force and we are "showing off" the rides...

Well this Sundays deal is off simply because of short notice and enough PM's asking us to please do this with more notice.

I've had requests for a few different places for meets in SD, everything from Dave & Busters, to some place in Carlsbad to Fudruckers. I don't really care where it's at just so long as we do something.

Personally I would like to see SD choose a place that would be a regular meeting place so they we could build an LX community like we have at Beach Burger. Our first meet there was 6 cars and now we average 40 plus the first Friday of every month. If you want to have multiple locations (probably best if not more than two as regular meets) thats ok too we just need to get them chosen an posted so new comers will know where SoCalLX is at!!!

Hit me with your thoughts and ideas and lest make this happen! :thumbs_u:
