Hi guys,,, I wanted my Limited to look a bit different than every other one out there, and I'm not a fan of 20's or 22's so this is what I came up with.
What do you think?

Looks sweet dewm1!

Dang it, hahah, I never gotten off of my butt to go to the vinyl shop here with templates. There are some out there already made up but with the carbon fiber look.

What do you think?, and a mesh in behind it?

Wheels look great and, yes, I love the grill idea... Dunno if it would even need the mesh though, I think leaving just the horizontal bars with nothing behind them would look prefect.
Post pics of whatever you decide to do!

I was thinking the mesh to protect the rad fins,,, I've already got some dings that I've straightened and repainted. So maybe a 1/4" mesh painted black. Should "disappear" if done semi gloss or matte?

Yea, good call... painted black would look fine. I was just thinking that a chrome or silver mesh in behind there wouldn't go with the overall look of your car at all.

Hi dewm1! At first I wasn't too sure about the horizontal grill, but after I looked at it for a bit, I think that would look good. Besides it would be a fairly cheap mod, that again would set you apart from the others out there. I think the mesh would look good too IF it was black or DLR, but a silver color mesh would be too much (obvious, noticeable) and take away from the look you have going on the front end.

I vote for "give it a shot", and what's the worst that comes from it? Afew wasted hours modding, and you can probably find a stock grill from the thousands of members who have replaced theirs, and put it back to stock, or try again.

P.S. - that's a nice lookin' car in the background of your pictures...something familiar about it...hmmmm :)

I say do the mod as well. Anything to make your ride look different from the who knows how many other 300's is awesome. Great idea !! For some your wheels are not there thing, but really looking at them in person I thought the idea behind the wheel was awesome. Looking like small spokes when really it was the SXT large spoke with painted inserts.

As I told you at the meet, I love the wheels, very unique. I think you should definitely black out the vertical lines on the grille, it looks sharp! As far as the mesh goes, unless your going to go black with it, it will really take away from the look of the car, JMHO.

Thanks KWhale,, gonna try it. Fill the back of the grill in, then cut and sand the bars out. Form the mesh to fit, Paint and install, shouldn't be too bad. Know anyone who has a grill they want to part with?
Yes,,, nice car in the background fer sure!
What's the old saying?, riding on Rims and a wing or something? LOL!

Chris, the bars will be removed,, and your opinion is bang on.
You have a fetish about black don't you? LOL!

Mike,,, Yes, I want it to look different than the other 300's out there,,, the color and the "wierd" wheels help. I got a bunch of idea's from the meet & greet(Many thanks to you and Mrs. Mike once again!) so it'll be moddin' time again soon.
And as per usual, some people may not like what I do. Oh well, they'll get over it, and if they don't too bad so sad.
Thanks.

OK, this will sound contradictory, but I don't like the modded grill as well as stock, and yet I think you should go for it. This hobby's all about personalizing a car. If you like it, do it, and if other's don't appreciate it that's their problem! Besides, you can brag that you did it yourself, instead of just buying a different grill and installing it!

I need a grill to change then I can see both in the car and pick the one I like best. Changing grills is only 1/2 an hour or so,,,,.
Being a do it yourselfer type fella, it shouldn't cost all that much except time. Better doing something like a grill than sitting on the couch paying homage to the great flickering god TV.

Well, I debadged the trunk deck today, except for the CWing,, they came off just fine and cleaned up just fine.
Then I got after the door mouldings,,, I found a strip of tiny little paint bubbles about 60% the length of the driver door. The bubbles line up perfectly with the space between the glue strips of the moulding,,, arrggghhh.
It's off to the dealership to see if they will cover it under warranty,, three and a half doors just perfect and one part of one door bubbled under the moulding?
Has anyone else heard of this and what was the outcome?

Thanks,,,, from one disapointed DLR driver.

You bet , there actually have been alot of cases of paint gone bad. There was a thread i can't remember the title though. And yes they did have to take it in to the dealership to touch up. Cases very similar to yours.

After searching it turns out this is a huge issue that has been around a LONG time. And it seems Dear Doctor Z. tells owners that it is NOT covered under warranty, in MOST cases.
It all depends on the dealer it seems.

Dealership or Stealership, which one will mine be?, that is the question,,,,,,,
