CENTRAL AND SOUTH MEET UP SPOT:

We all meet up at 9am at the Service Plaza, we will have an 1hr and a half play time to get gas, food etc.,.. we will designate a stop at which we can either fill up or use the restrooms.....it will take approximatley 2 1/2 -3 hours...giving us about 1hr to play with.....which if need be we can split 2 30 min breaks into the equation..... we drive for about an hour and a half stop get either gas or use the necessities.....Then we drive to the welcome center , we could stop where I-10 intersects with I75....
from wildwood to the I10 intersection is about 120 miles.....our cars all should be good for at least 200 miles and thats at a lil over 10 miles a gallon
if we all can agree to travel up to White springs, Florida (I-10 - I-75 intersection) then it shouldn't take anymore than 120 miles.....which is about an 1hr to an 1hr and a half.....at least at 70 mph....
From white springs florida to the Florida Georgia Welcome Center, it will take an additional hr.....1hr and 6 mins to be exact....
at 1pm we should be arriving at the Welcome center.........
once we meet at the Welcome Center, we will no longer have a Police escort.....we will be on our own...This will be fine we will only have to travel another 100 miles at this point we can agree to stop anywhere in between say travel 50 miles if we all can and find a suitable gas station to fill up at.....
we will arrive at the Holiday Inn in Perry around 2-3pm depending on the time it takes us to get out there.....we will get in our rooms, rest, eat and get ready to enjoy another great time in Georgia!!!!!!!

I believe that would be a good idea; I believe there is a rest area around I-10 and I-75, I think it would be a good idea for those north of say Orange/Lake county to meet up at a northern point, and get in line.

The nearest rest area north of Lake City is the Florida Georgia border, I thinking we mosy south to the rest area at mile marker 413 I will come up with a route to the rest area for us. I beleive we can come in on CR236 and go north to rest area.

its gonna be bigger than last year!!!! last year we only had about 16 rides and that was awesome....this year its doubled!!!!! lets show these other states how a caravan is done!!!!!
were gonna have a police escort from the Okahumpka service plaza to the state line reststop....there will be 2 police troopers, we will need about 10-20 dollars from each member to help cover the end payment for the FHP FLXC POLICE ESCORT it will cost about 750 dollars....it will help keep this line in formation along with a breezy cruise for 3-5 hours....make sure you remember to fill up at the service plaza!!!! we need all full tanks so that we can all stop at the next gas station which should be around Aribi Georgia...This will be about a 3-4 hour trip from the service plaza so get comfy bring snacks and lets have a good ol' caravan!!!!!!


Lets make sure we also get this escort on camera!!!!!

Hey Matt if my math is right (and it should be, lol) if there are 30 cars going (29 right now), the each car will need to pay $25 for the escort for us to come up with $ 750. Unless we can round up some more caravanners!?!?! What does everyone else say? Was my math correct?

this year were having a police escort!!!
we are ironing out the details for the south members to have the police escort up to the Okahumpka Service Plaza...we are still waiting on the reply back from the Officer...

we will all meet between 9:30-10am we will caravan at 10:30 this will give time to fill up, grab snacks, do the deeds and get ready for a nice 3hr road trip to the Florida/Georgia state line rest stop.... once we reach the state line we will say good bye to our friendly Florida troopers....

we will then have a 1-2 hr caravan into Perry Georgia which should get us there about 4-5pm this will depend on the leave time....now i know a few of the members want to race or at least go to the races...i believe the races start around 8pm so if we do arrive around 4-5 pm this should give everyone a chance to freshen up.....

If you went Last year you will remember how much fun we had caravaning
this year lets have that fun again!!!!!!!

Whole number channels give you noise, static and much outside chatter. Going to the subs quiets things down so everybody can understand each other. Going to a whole numbered channel just to satisfy someone who bought the cheapest FRM possible, only hinders everyones reception in the caravan. With as many cars that you have going, and them being spread out quite far, you are going to want good reception. Most FRM radios with subs can be bought for fairly good prices in pairs from WalMart, then sell one to another caravan member. This way each gets a radio with subs as cheap as buying a single without subs. Being inside a metal car hinders reception as it is, you don't want to compound the problem. Been there done that!
